Today we’d like to introduce you to N’gozi Mckee-mathis
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
N’Gozi is a dynamic and inspiring entrepreneur, devoted mother, and loving wife, who wears many hats with grace and determination. As the visionary founder and owner of Kulture Kinnect 360, N’Gozi has built a thriving business dedicated to fostering cultural connection and community empowerment. These connections were fostered at a young age being a military dependent.
With a Bachelor’s in Psychology as well as a Bachelor’s and Masters of Metaphysical Science, N’Gozi blends academic rigor with a deep understanding of the human spirit in all her endeavors. Her expertise as a Certified Doula allows her to support and advocate for women during one of the most profound times of their lives, bringing her passion for nurturing and empowerment into sharp focus.
Driven by a commitment to service, N’Gozi is also an aspiring non-profit community leader, striving to create lasting, positive change within her community as a former Partnership (Foster) parent. This endeavor will provide resources to Foster Parents as well as children who are currently placed.
Through Kulture Kinnect 360, N’Gozi continues to inspire and connect individuals from all walks of life, fostering a sense of unity and shared purpose. As a mother and wife, she balances her professional and personal responsibilities with adept skill, embodying resilience and compassion in every role she undertakes. Her journey is a testament to the power of dedication, compassion, unity, and the relentless pursuit of one’s passions.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Absolutely not smooth. The biggest struggle we faced when opening Kulture Kinnect 360 was learning how to generate revenue with a concept that was met with a lot of controversy and misunderstanding within our community. We opened our doors during a time when there were no other spiritual or metaphysical sanctuaries around, and many people perceived our establishment with fear and skepticism. We were often labeled as dark, occult, or even evil, and those stereotypes made it difficult initially to attract like-minded individuals and enthusiasts.
The pandemic added another layer of complexity to our challenges. With many people feeling isolated and seeking some form of solace, our sanctuary became more important than ever. However, it was also a time when fear and uncertainty were at their peak, exacerbating the pre-existing misconceptions about our services.
But again, I leaned into the opportunity to reach out to those in need. I adapted by offering virtual consultations, online workshops, and creating a digital community that allowed people to connect and find support. The pandemic, while difficult, reinforced the importance of what we were offering and showed us that there was a growing need for spiritual and metaphysical spaces, whether physical or virtual.
I believe that every struggle carries with it an opportunity for growth and deeper understanding. What kept me going was my unwavering belief in the purpose and mission of Kulture Kinnect 360. I prided myself on offering impeccable service and meeting each person where they were on their own unique spiritual journey. My approach was to embrace all walks of life with acceptance and to cultivate a space of trust and sacredness. Through genuine connections and heartfelt interactions, I built a community that began to see the true essence of what we offered—healing, support, and a safe haven for
exploration.
Looking back, I am most proud of the community we’ve built and the trust we’ve earned. Creating a space where people feel truly seen, accepted, and supported on their spiritual journeys is incredibly fulfilling. The transformation in the perception of Kulture Kinnect 360 from something misunderstood and feared to a sanctuary of acceptance and growth is a testament to the power of empathy, dedication, and unwavering belief in one’s mission. It’s heartwarming to see people from all walks of life come together, share their journeys, and support one another. That connection is, in many ways, the very essence of what Kulture Kinnect 360 was always meant to be.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
For over two decades, I’ve dedicated my life to creating safe, nurturing environments for children in need as a foster parent—though today, we are more fittingly called partnership parents. This journey has been both challenging and deeply fulfilling, enriching my soul in ways I could never have imagined. Throughout these years, I’ve witnessed first-hand the emotional and logistical struggles that foster families face, which has driven my commitment to not just provide sanctuary to children, but to be an advocate for meaningful, transformative change.
My heart and soul are deeply intertwined with the realms of spirituality and metaphysics. I believe that connecting with our higher selves, and understanding the deeper processes of the universe can bring about profound healing and growth. This holistic approach doesn’t just apply to individual journeys but to collective efforts to make the world a better place. It’s this spiritual calling that propels me to extend my purpose beyond my home and into the broader community.
Therefore, with immense passion and heartfelt intention, I am embarking on a new mission. I am establishing a Non-Profit organization designed to ease the burdens faced by foster families and children. So often, these children are placed in homes with little more than the clothes on their backs, frequently displaced and always yearning for stability and love. I’ve felt the strain firsthand—of trying to provide all the necessities at a moment’s notice, of adapting to new placements that may not fit the previous age-group or gender parameters supported. This shouldn’t be a barrier to offering a loving home.
My Non-Profit will serve as a lifeline, providing free, donated items specifically tailored for foster families. From clothing and toys to educational materials and comfort items—every donation will be a building block towards creating a sense of belonging and security for these vulnerable children. My mission is to ensure no child has to endure the emotional and physical hardship of displacement without support and that no foster family feels the overwhelming financial strain of providing care on short notice.
What sets us apart is not just what I do, but why I do it. This is a labor of love grounded in a deep connection to the spiritual truth that we are all interconnected. When we uplift others, we elevate our own souls and contribute to the collective well-being of humanity. My greatest pride lies in the countless moments of transformation I’ve been privileged to witness—when a scared child finds solace in a loving home, or when a foster family feels the embrace of a community rallying around them.
Together, we can create ripples of change, lifting up these remarkable children and the incredible families who open their hearts to them. This is a divine opportunity to embody the spiritual truth that to give is to receive, that in helping others find their light, we illuminate our own paths. Join me on this journey, and let’s build a future where every child feels cherished, and every foster family feels empowered and supported. Together, our combined efforts can be a beacon of hope and love, forging new dreams and possibilities for the heart of our community.
Along with that, there is a back story of why I fostered, why I stopped, and possibly other endeavors within the scope of resources for families and children but I will expound later when my vision is actually birthed.
Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
Expansion and Integration:
1. Holistic Wellness Hub By expanding to include meditation, sound therapy, art therapy, and a tea bar, Kulture Kinnect 360 can become a comprehensive wellness hub. This multidimensional approach would attract a diverse community looking for a wide range of self-care options.
2. Community Collaboration Partnering with local artists and wellness practitioners could build a stronger community network. This collaboration could also include workshops, classes, and events that draw in wider audiences.
3. As mental health awareness continues to grow, there’s a significant opportunity to position Kulture Kinnect 360 as a sanctuary for mental and emotional well-being. Integrating therapeutic practices like meditation and sound therapy which I think aligns perfectly.
4. Corporate Partnerships: Building relationships with corporations for sponsorship, volunteer programs, or wellness packages could provide additional funding and expansion.
5. Securing a Building with community support. This centralized location could become a key asset, creating a true sanctuary that serves multiple needs under one roof.
6. Volunteer and Donor Engagement and community collaborations.
7. Offering specialized programs for different demographics, like youth art therapy sessions, senior meditation classes, or family wellness workshops.
8. Resource Center Development for foster families and children could offer not just physical resources but also educational workshops on parenting, life skills, and even personal development.
9. Create methods for constant feedback from the community participants to ensure the programs are meeting their needs and expectations.
Overall, my vision for Kulture Kinnect 360 as a sanctuary that integrates multiple forms of therapy and community support could become a model for holistic community wellness. With thoughtful planning, community engagement, and leveraging current trends, the next 5-10 years with collaboration, funding, and trusting my vision, I can see Kulture Kinnect 360 and my non-profit becoming a cornerstone in my community’s well-being in totality 360 degrees of completion.
