Today we’d like to introduce you to Natalis Rubero
Hi Natalis, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I’m Natalis, a rising star bringing a fresh perspective to the world of salsa. Born and raised between the vibrant streets of New York City and the sun-kissed shores of Carolina, Puerto Rico, my music is a unique fusion of Nuyorican roots and contemporary rhythms. This captivating blend has led to collaborations on R&B hits for the Wendy Williams biopic, Latin pop tracks featured on 90 Day Fiance, and more.
Beyond my stage performances, I’ve had the honor of lending my vocals to Grammy-nominated albums by Kanye West as part of The Blessed Choir. This dedication to my craft has earned me two Grammy participation certificates and solidified my position as a leader in the music industry as an elected NY Chapter Governor for the Recording Academy.
Get ready for my upcoming album, “VIVA,” and experience the sound of salsa reimagined for a new generation.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Honestly, it’s been a wild ride. Dealing with autoimmune diseases like lupus and fibro is no joke. It’s like my body’s got its own secret agenda, and it’s not always a fun one.
Then there’s the whole music industry thing. Trying to fund projects when you’re an indie artist is like trying to catch a unicorn. It’s tough, but I’ve learned to hustle and grind.
Balancing everything – my health, my music, and managing a team – can be a LOT. But, I push through.
All this struggle has made me stronger, though. It’s fueled my creativity and given me a unique perspective. I’m excited to see what the future holds.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’m a passionate creative who thrives on storytelling. I specialize in songwriting, singing, engineering and production.
I’m most proud of recently becoming a newly elected NY Chapter Governor for the Recording Academy. I’m very passionate about advocating for musicians and being in this position allows me to have a voice and offer a perspective.
I believe what sets me apart is my unique blend of creativity and advocacy. I’m always striving to advocate, push boundaries and create work that resonates with people on a deep level.
What does success mean to you?
Success is being the best version of yourself you can be day to day. Success can look like completing that song I was stuck on, or securing that placement I pitched for, or just getting through the day.
