Today we’d like to introduce you to Matthew Corozine.
Hi Matthew, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Created Matthew Corozine Acting Studio & Theatre 25 years ago in NYC. Helping actors “get outta their head”, using the transformational Meisner Technique, students are currently on Broadewy, TV, Film and creating a meaningful life as creative artists. Authored the book “if you survived 7th grade, you can be an Actor—applying the Meisner Technique to get outta your head in Acting and in life”. Expanded studio to sold out classes in DC, LA. Currently teaching in Miami, on line and New York City.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Being an actor and artist myself —acquiring business skills to run a business.
Oh the growing pains of hiring the right people and the nature of my clientele -artists and actors mostly living a freelance lifestyle. Developing my voice as a teacher and my unique style —demanding excellence and creating a safe place for actors to take risks—maintaining that balance.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am an Acting Coach/teacher/director/actor/author I created Matthew Corozine Actign Studo & Theatre 25 years ago in New York City. I’m known to be an acting teacher and a director, utilizing the transformational Meisner Technique as my foundation.—meeting actors where they are at and helping them to live in the moment, get their attention of themselves and will be truthful. I really help actors “get outta your head” and condition, their instinct and impulses rather than their automatic way of being and helping them shed their limited beliefs.
Who else deserves credit in your story?
Oh yes so many people
My partner in life Alain champions me every day and his belief in me is truly incredible. I believe in finding your tribe and creating your own team. My assistant Trevor is amazing —assists me in running an acting studio in 2 cities -Miami and NYC and I live in both traveling weekly. I also make sure my career is coached each week with my own coach Tessa Faye, and will give my first manager a shout out Tsu Tsu Stanton who as a up and coming actor really loved and believed in me. And shout out to my social media manager Ali and my amazing teachers in Miami and NYC – Ryan, Ben and April.
