Today we’d like to introduce you to Lisette Solares.
Hi Lisette, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’m Liz Solares, 40 years old, and the world of books has been an adventure of self-discovery. A few years ago, while searching for a moment of disconnection from my daily routine, I found that making bracelets brought me peace and sparked my creativity. That sense of well-being led me to explore other practices like meditation and yoga, but it wasn’t until early this year that I found the missing piece: the 30 Libros reading club.
I have always been fascinated by books—I would ask for them as gifts, visit bookstores with excitement, and collect titles on my shelves. However, I constantly postponed reading, telling myself that I should use that time to tackle work tasks. I didn’t realize what I was missing.
When I joined 30 Libros’ personal development reading club, my perspective completely changed. One of the first books I read was Your Success is Inevitable by Maïté Issa, and with it, a transformation in my life began. I learned that dedicating just 20 minutes a day to reading was enough to integrate this habit meaningfully and consciously. More than just learning, I grasped two essential lessons: we deserve time to disconnect, and our well-being should always be a priority.
Reading, which had been dormant in my life for years, blossomed once again. What started as a goal of one book per month quickly turned into an average of three to four books monthly, depending on their length. But beyond the numbers, the most valuable part has been connecting with each story and experiencing the impact books have had on my personal growth.
As Raquel Pérez beautifully states in her book Enciende tu luz:
“Sometimes, while you’re reading, a magical atmosphere is created, and you feel like you’re receiving a message that deeply resonates with you.”
That is exactly how I feel every time I open a book. Because reading isn’t just turning pages—it’s encountering ideas, stories, and, most importantly, rediscovering parts of ourselves that we may have forgotten.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
More than an easy road, it has been a journey of growth and self-discovery. Through reading, I have opened my mind to new stories, reflections, and lessons that have truly shaped me.
One of my biggest challenges has been overcoming the fear of recording literary content videos. At first, insecurity held me back, but over time, I learned to trust myself and show up as I am. Now, more than a challenge, I see it as a fun way to share my passion for books and enjoy the process.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
My expertise lies in social media and digital marketing, but my true passion is books. Over time, I have managed to merge both worlds and establish myself as a literary content creator.
Currently, I focus primarily on Instagram, where I share book recommendations, reviews, and my experiences at literary events. I am proud not only of my personal growth but also of the impact my content has in fostering reading habits and inspiring more people to connect with books.
What sets me apart is that I read out of passion, not for trends. My book choices align with my values and interests, allowing me to share stories that truly inspire me. Additionally, I embrace authenticity—I show up as I am, without filters, sharing my love for reading in a genuine and relatable way.
In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
I believe that the world of literary content and social media is constantly evolving. In the next 5-10 years, I anticipate significant growth in digital interaction within reading communities.
Today, we have the option to read in digital formats and audiobooks, but personally, I don’t see this as a transformative shift in the long run. Readers continue to value the physical reading experience—visiting bookstores, holding a book in our hands, turning the pages, and enjoying the scent of paper.
Likewise, I find the excessive use of artificial intelligence in the creative process of authors to be controversial. While it can be a useful tool for editing or refining a text, it should not come at the expense of the essence and magic that stem from the author’s creative mind. If AI takes too much influence, we risk losing the soul of literature.
