Today we’d like to introduce you to Kells Morton
Hi Kells, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I am proud native of Chicago, IL! Coming from humble beginnings, I decided to leave home and join the Navy at a young age. It was the best life hack ever! My career was my focus for a very long time. In my heart, however I always have wanted to be a performer and be onstage. I love to laugh and feel a sense of completeness when I make others laugh. That’s the only way I can describe it.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I can’t say anything is easy. My military career started rough because with anything you must learn what right looks like. I have done well and I appreciate every path that has led me to this point. My comedy journey is new and exciting…and I’m here for it! Still learning and still growing.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
When I’m not in uniform , I am a comedian, it gives me joy to be on stage! It’s therapeutic and gives me a sense of purpose. I think everyone is different and has a unique style on stage so I think what me part is simply I’m different from everyone else.
The crisis has affected us all in different ways. How has it affected you and any important lessons or epiphanies you can share with us?
I think we all learned that the world can operate remotely. That is where my creativity took place and I spent a lot of time baking. I know that’s random, but it was true. I had a great business, and I was great at it, I made a lot of money, but it was not fun for me. You must love what you do for it be fun!
