Today we’d like to introduce you to Jeremiah Phillipe
Hi Jeremiah, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I’ve always had an eye for nature, so photography started for me when we went on our fishing trips. When the fishing was slow, I would get my camera out and take photos of the beautiful scenery that flyfishing has to offer. I quit my job of 25 years at the Post Office to pursue my dreams. I want to make a living doing what I love instead of it being a “hobby.”
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
We would all like to say it’s an easy, smooth road, but the reality is that anything new is going to have its challenges. Like any industry, it’s very hard to stand out from the crowd. I wouldn’t have it any other way though. It can be frustrating to try to build a youtube channel, but if it was easy, everyone would do it. You just have to keep working, never give up, and good things will happen.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
As I’ve learned more about photography/cinematography, I realized that my love for photography has taken me to a passion for cinematography. I’ve shot and edited a music video, two short ads for businesses, and have done the video work for three weddings. My interest have changed a but to making videos, editing, and polishing up the clips I take with my drone, phone, and gopro. I’m most.proud of the music video I filmed with my lady for her music video.
What’s next?
My ultimate goal is to film a western movie, either for me or in a collaboration with a company. I will continue to build my social media presence and hope that one day I will make a living off of what I love doing. There is no security in this venture, yet that makes it exciting in a sense. Adventure on!
