Today we’d like to introduce you to Eric Impallomeni
Hi Eric, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I’ve always been drawn to the arts—whether it was drawing, writing, or exploring music. The summer before 6th grade, everything changed when I was given a guitar. I picked it up and instantly fell in love, spending hours teaching myself to play and experimenting with songwriting.
That passion for creativity carried me through life, but along the way, I realized how much I valued connecting with people on a deeper level. This led me to pursue a career in therapy, where I’m currently studying to become a licensed therapist.
By day, I focus on understanding the human experience through psychology. By night, I’m onstage, gigging at venues across New England, sharing my music with others. Balancing these two passions has been an incredible journey, blending creativity and connection into everything I do.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It hasn’t always been a smooth road. One of the biggest challenges was booking shows—those first hundred gigs were definitely the hardest. It took a lot of effort to build momentum, but as I gained experience and added accomplishments to my resume, the process became easier. Staying present through those challenges helped me focus on growth rather than dwelling on the obstacles, which has been key to my progress.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m a local musician from New England, performing at bars and venues several nights a week while balancing a full-time job as a case manager and pursuing a degree to become a licensed LCMHC. I’m known for my intimate performances and a fun, eclectic mix of covers, ranging from The Beatles to the Backstreet Boys. What sets me apart is the personal connection I bring to my music, blending my psychology background with my artistry to create a unique experience for audiences.
What I’m most proud of is returning to music after a five-year hiatus. I started with an open mic on January 1, 2024, and by December 1, I was playing my first theater show at the BNH Stage—a milestone that reflects the hard work and dedication I’ve poured into my craft.
What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
What I like best about our city is the incredible music scene here in New Hampshire. The talent, artistry, and opportunities are second to none, and it’s been amazing to be part of such a vibrant, supportive community of musicians.
As someone who grew up in NYC and now lives in Peterborough, I’ve realized that cities aren’t really my thing anymore. I prefer the small-town charm and connection I’ve found in New Hampshire, which is much more aligned with my current lifestyle and values.
