Today we’d like to introduce you to Avarex Nj
Hi Avarex, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I’ve been doing music & art since a kid. These are skills that runs through my family bloodline. My grandfathers were singers back in there time also my uncles were Dj’s & rappers. A couple of my aunts, cousins including my mother would sing here & there. Music has been in my household for many years from R&B to Hip hop & a little bit of Pop. The art skill came from looking at graffiti walls in the hoods I grew up in New Jersey.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
NOOO !! It has not been a easy road at ALL. I’ve been making music for many years & I’ve been through a lot of false promises, problems with my managers, & doubts from the people I value the most. I’ve almost had a record deal twice & not having the right support around me cause friction between me & the independent labels I was running with at the time. Also behind the scenes I deal with real life problems that I express through my music & art.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
My name is AvarexNJ a Rap Artist from Newark & Jersey City, New Jersey. I’m a rapper / graffiti artist meaning I make really great music & I can draw pictures of people, things, & places etc. I’m a father to my son and I received a college degree in Art during the pandemic. Also I having a clothing line called “78 east clothing” with my brothers & uncles. What I specialize in being a creator for myself & others. I create artwork for people brands including business & make music to motivate people in the everyday struggle. What I’m most proud of I’m “STILL GOING” when life been difficult growing up in the urban areas of NJ. Also I’m proud that I was around to raise my son while chasing my dreams & fighting poverty. I believe what set me apart from others my personality is raw & uncut I’m not afraid to be myself. Also my music & art speaks for itself.
The crisis has affected us all in different ways. How has it affected you and any important lessons or epiphanies you can share with us?
YES !! I learned a lot about perseverance & keeping my faith in GOD. I lost two of my aunts during the pandemic in my last semesters in college. A few months before COVID I lost my apartment due to lack of hours at the job I had & I wanted to finish college. You know, life was kicking everybody ass during those 2 & half years. I had to keep my head high, pray, & KEEP GOING. It was extremely difficult making music when you have all these problems attacking you at once & I’ve learned to push through it there’s a light at the end of the tunnel.
