Today we’d like to introduce you to Arcadio Lombardo.
Hi Arcadio, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Hi, I’m a guitarist, composer and music producer from Messina, Italy. I’m now 35 and I first started playing guitar when I was 12, ita has been a long journey!
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Not a smooth road and I will say a kinda unpopular thing; music is easier for passionate people and those who comes from families with a little money. If you don’t have one of those, it’s gonna be harder. I had and still have the passion, but unluckily I came from a family with not much economic possibilities. I invested all my family could do in education, but after that it was a challenge, to continue studying every day, and starting to have an income from music. The other problem that a creative mind can have is finding his space in a word that likes to have strict categories; I always liked heavy genre of music as well as Jazz and symphonic music. I studied every aspect of these 3 big categories, and I always felt to not perfectly fit the idea of a classic jazz or classic or modern musician. There was no fascination for me in developing skill in only one of these world, but this mindset also slowed me a lot, because I had to source the answers that I needed from multiple sources, in different times of my formation.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m a digital turnist, and a producer, I create and record guitar and symphonic part for clients. And I have my personal project in wich I invest the rest of my time.
What makes you happy?
It makes me happy when I can take a new musical idea/vision into a finished product like a song or a guitar part for someone. In the realm of digital work it often happens that gigs are real quick and client are a little inexperienced and want just something that works instead of something that is very good and brilliant but requires more time, more budget etc etc
