Today we’d like to introduce you to Amber Christina Hedgeman.
Hi Amber Christina, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I started out discovering what I wanted to do and I always had a passion for helping people. I also worked in healthcare and retail so I have a lot of people experience and I enjoy working for a greater purpose. I’m a business woman and I still work a 9-5 to support my dreams. I graduated Empire Beauty school in 2012. I always knew I was gonna have a foundation laid in the beauty industry. I have worked in retail so I gained my personal experience from being a peoples person. I got into beauty blogging in 2017 and I was working as a makeup artist at Lancôme a year before. I really enjoyed working with clients and doing the makeup. My thing was always natural beauty and enhancing my clients natural features. Then I got into blogging and companies sending me free products and promoting on social media. I gained a lot of followers so my audience was big. I’m in the process of creating a book about blogging and Influencing for people that wanna learn about paid partnerships and brand deals. I have a lot of information on how to get into influencer marketing industry. I enjoy what i am doing and I absolutely had fun creating content for brands and helping them promote there products. I took a long break to focus on my brands and personal stuff going on in my personal life. I decided to come back on the scene and blog some more and influence my supporters.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
No it hasn’t been a smooth road there have been many set backs. When you are about to do something good things can get in the way but you can’t let it stop you have to go back out there and push yourself to your highest protencial I been working really hard non stop to get where I need to be when it comes to building my brands and my personal grown between blanching a job and my brands. Setbacks include relocating and building up the brands needs with the money. I enjoy traveling often I been to Puerto Rico and Jamaica and I still have more places on my bucket list. I traveled a lot in the US that is why I know so many different foods and recipes. I embrace everything from my traveling experienced and add it to my recipes and create something tasty.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I work in the healthcare industry as far as my 9-5 and I run two brands which two are in the pre launching stage. I have been working on my brands for a little while now and the best way I find balance is making sure I take time out for myself and pamper myself whether it’s a spa day staying at home watching a movie and making a tasty home cooked meal. I enjoy doing my hair and nails and treating myself to something online a little retail therapy lol. I set myself apart because I’m creating multiple streams of income, not only for wealth i actually enjoy all of these things. I have a up and coming wig and lash business. In addition, a fitness and beauty brand and now my cooking blog. I’m excited to see where this takes me in the future will all my income streams. I have a lot of role models that do multiple careers like Jai Bella, Premadonna Thomas and Sierra Gates and many others. I don’t see nothing wrong with it as long as you can balance everything. The way society makes people feel that having one job is all you need to make it! I don’t get that and I feel that doing the things you have to do to make your money is important as well as doing the things you love!!
If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
I was a very shy girl but I also had a side to me that was outgoing and humble. I did have people that picked drama with me in school especially growing up in New York elementary school. Then I was accepted by two girls that always wore the latest fashion and they had me sit at the table with them. I was apart of Chorus and loved to sing back then. I was still discovering what I wanted to do and I was always into fashion and wearing the latest outfits. Keeping my hair nice then I was always getting braids in my hair lol. I remember those days. Gained a lot of experience growing up to being the woman iam today, Then, for high school I went in the suburbs in Pennsylvana things were different in a good way. The campus was like being in college and they really focused a lot on education. Which was great during my senior year I got accepted to a lot of different colleges and universities such as Chatham University and I could take classes at the University of Pittsburgh just to name a few. However, things have changed I didn’t attend those colleges I went to a local college in New Rochelle, New York I loved the area and I was studying Medical Assistant and I changed my major a few times lol. Today I have a lot of business adventures going on right now. I started a cooking blog in 2020, I always had a passion for cooking and enjoy it. My family has a lot of different cultural backgrounds so I wanted to bring that together. I have a cookbook out now called “Amber’s Tasty Recipes” which is available now on digital download.
