Today we’d like to introduce you to Amanda Erixon
Amanda, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I’m a Swedish actor and I graduated Stella Adler Studio in 2017 in New York. I found my way to acting through singing and musical theatre. I’ve worked as a freelancer the past few years, both in Sweden and New York. I have been acting in plays, short films and a musical. I’m currently studying voice and speech and working as a theatre teacher. My most recent roles include Maria in Twelfth Night and Ronja in Ronja The Robber’s Daughter in New York. I’m currently based in Stockholm and working on a self produced short film.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It’s been an interesting road full of challenges and fun. One project has led to the next one and I’ve collaborated with great artists along the way. I’m very grateful for all it has given me and I’ve grown as an artist as well as a human being.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m especially proud of the production Ronja, The Robber’s Daughter that I worked on a year ago. I combined the role of actor, director, and producer in this play and I learned so much about myself meanwhile really enjoying the whole process of it. When I’m in any creative process I aim to go for it full speed and trust that the work will show and pay off. I really enjoy working on different kinds of characters that challenges and speaks to me in various ways.
Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
I’ve learned to trust the process and myself in it. I’ve learned that letting go sometimes can be crucial for improvement and to seek help and inspiration from fellow artist can be helpful to be able to grow. I’ve learned to enjoy this artistic journey and to wait for opportunities to be fully ready when they come.
