Today we’d like to introduce you to Suzanne Ouellette
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I’ve had a lifelong interest in fashion and astrology. Also, helping people to look and feel better. During Covid lockdowns, I had a lot of time on my hands to think of how I could merge these interests. When I was able to go back to my day job, (I’m a hairstylist/makeup artist by trade), my clients were slow to come back. I took an additional part time job to supplement my income in the meantime at a high-end department store. I was promised a personal styling position and a certain salary, neither of which I received. That’s corporate culture for you! I figured why not do this myself, on my own terms, with my own website?
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Nothing in life is a smooth road. I’ve struggled with opening an online boutique/styling service in the worst economy since the depression. Also there is fierce competition with overseas stores. People in these desperate times are willing to overlook poor quality and poor labor practices for the promise of a bargain.
We’ve been impressed with Collection Cosmos, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I am changing how you go about shopping for your wardrobe. It’s in the stars! Looks curated by me for you based on your birth information. Collectively, I have many years of fashion, beauty, sales, high-end retail, and of course astrology experience! I am headquartered in Massachusetts, USA. This is an area rich in history, science, technology, arts, music, and witchcraft. I hope to add fashion to that list!
