Today we’d like to introduce you to Madhurima Sappatti
Hi Madhurima, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Absolutely! The year was 2020, and I was fresh out of 2 jobs in 6 months, one that I had quit because of the toxic work culture that had led me to a major burnout, and the other that I had to quit because of the pandemic. As a super ambitious kid, that was like moving backward instead of forwards.
So along with major health anxiety that was constantly triggered by, well the pandemic, I stepped into a mid-life crisis in my early 20s about my purpose, mission, and what I wanted to achieve and do for the world.
Something that really helped me ground myself was spirituality and the intention to focus on the present and constantly work towards building a story that would be worth sharing with the universe!
Around this time a lot of my inner circle members were getting into the world of coaching, which caught my intrigue and fascinated me, and everything started to come together.
I decided to start my journey as a coach by wanting to help people reconnect with themselves, especially if they were feeling lost. As I shared my journey and got coached and mentored, this mission evolved to adding burnout to the mix and helping people recognize it as well as get out of it.
But the more I studied about burnout, the more I realized that it was nothing more than improper stress management over a long duration of time. So if you manage your stress regularly and effectively, you do not burn out! This led me to reflect on my own journey and want to help people prevent burnout by managing stress.
It also led me to the realization that stress was pretty much like fitness. Everyone knew it would help you live longer, happier, and enjoy life to it’s fullest, but not many wanted to do it until it got bad enough. So I decided to make it fun – something that they would look forward to throughout the day, and if practiced regularly would prevent stress from carrying over to the next day!
This is why I love helping people manage their stress and come up with creative solutions that align with their needs, wants, and desires. And that’s my story!
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I don’t think it has been a smooth road, and I don’t think it ever is for solopreneurs on their way to create something bigger than themselves.
There were a bunch of struggles, especially because I dove into this world without any backup plans or savings in the bank, and way too many responsibilities on my shoulders as one of the only breadwinners in the family who was fresh out of a job, during COVID.
I have had my fair share of difficult talks with family who loved and still love supporting me, but we had moments of, let’s stop with the entrepreneurship dreams because of how unstable the finances can be.
There was a lot of impostor syndrome, fear of being in public, sharing my thoughts with the world – and fear of being rejected along the way, being an introvert, and being afraid of reaching out to others because I thought I was inconveniencing them.
If I keep sharing, this list will be ever-growing. What I would love to share instead is what helped me get out of these mindsets and continues to be my core support system – Community. A community of friends, entrepreneurs, my mastermind for women entrepreneurs, coaches, and mentors!
These individuals and groups are going to be your biggest support system as you set your foot in the entrepreneurship world and help you break out of your shells and comfort zones, while helping you stretch!
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Madhurima Sappatti?
Madhurima Sappatti is a personal brand, where I, as a Global Stress Management Facilitator, support Multi-passionate, Ambitious, Dreamers, Manage their Stress and Prevent Burnout, so that they can achieve their goals, without their ownselves holding them back. I am also on a mission to make Stress Management Fun!
As someone who has experienced stress pretty much all my life, been through two major burnouts, and have heard my fair share of bad advice – “Madhurima… the best way to manage your stress is to not get stressed out” – Thank you! I never would’ve figured that out, I think it is extremely crucial to be able to bring in a new narrative to Stress Management.
I love coming up with fun and personalized stress management solutions that align with people’s needs, wants, and desires. This usually happens in a 1:1 stress management session that includes coaching, mentorship, or a mix of both of them!
To accomplish my mission, I have been in 100+ mediums of communication – from podcasts, interviews, Amazon TV and Roku TV, blogs, articles, etc.
One thing I would love for people to know is that Stress Management doesn’t have to be annoying, soul-sucking, life-draining, and something that takes time and energy away from personal and professional lives. It shouldn’t be another task to tick off the to-do list. It can be exciting, fun, and something you look forward to throughout the day!
If this entices you, let’s absolutely connect and see how we can come up with some stress management strategies for you!
What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
To keep growing especially when it gets hard. Let me clarify –
As someone who has had to push against her comfort zone and grow out of it multiple times during my journey as a founder and coach, if I were to have given up the first time it got difficult, I wouldn’t be here 3 and a half years later, sharing my story with you.
Of course, you don’t have to do it all alone. You can reach out for support from those who can provide it to you, but don’t stop when it gets hard. At least not in the very first few push-backs.
You can always press pause on something if it is getting too overwhelming and you do not have the time and energy to expand, but remember to come back and press play, and work on it when you have the time and space to do so.
How do you differentiate between when to keep going and when to press pause?
– Listen to your gut,
– Reach out for support,
– Trial and Error!
