Today we’d like to introduce you to Lynda Fraser Fraser
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Lynda Bio
– worked in human resource roles for 20+ years assisting staff, students, collective agreements, multi-million-dollar budgets, hiring, firing and training.
– Due to health reasons, I needed a career change – I wanted to start my own business, so I went back to school and became a Certified Cognitive Behavioural Therapy Practitioner and career and Life Coach to empower individuals by addressing their cognitive and emotional patterns and employing evidence-based techniques to guide my clients in reshaping negative thought patterns and behaviours, enabling them to achieve meaningful change in their lives
I wanted to learn more and help people more, so I went back to school and completed a Master of Science (MSc.) in Psychology from the University of Essex, UK. This provided me with a solid foundation for understanding human behaviour and the intricacies of the human mind.
– I then saw a need for mental health support for individuals with ADHD and Autism – so I expanded my expertise to become an ADHD-Certified Clinical Service Provider (ADHD-CCSP), specializing in working with individuals who face the unique challenges associated with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder. This certification underscores my commitment to helping those with ADHD develop effective strategies for managing their symptoms and thriving daily.
– in the Fall, I will begin another educational endeavour by completing a certification as a Psychosocial Rehabilitation Recovery Practitioner (CPRRP), a therapeutic treatment modality that provides rehabilitation for behavioural disorders. The program is designed to provide interventions for individuals to improve behavioural skills related to barriers affecting their social integration.
– Currently, I work with teens and adults as a Certified Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Practitioner to empower individuals by addressing their cognitive and emotional patterns, demonstrating a remarkable ability to build self-esteem and resilience. I specialize in addressing executive functioning weaknesses while harnessing personal strengths. Whether helping children navigate the challenges of ADHD, guiding adolescents through the tumultuous years of self-discovery, or assisting adults in managing life’s complexities, my empathetic and insightful approach has consistently yielded positive results.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
– struggles included growing a business, getting clients, and getting recognition as an effective practitioner.
– the amount of schooling I have completed in the past 4 years, especially at the age of 57, especially with my health issues.
– my biggest struggle has been not being recognized as a Psychotherapist by the CRPO (Canadian Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario). After 4+ years of combined schooling, including an MSc. in psychology and the varying fields of psychology and mental health, according to them, I have not met the criteria, so I cannot use the psychotherapy term in my title. Returning to school in September will help with my credibility, but I will still not gain recognition from the CRPO.
As you know, we’re big fans of Lynda Layne Consulting. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?

I have developed three workbooks (each for women, men, and teens) to help them build self-esteem and self-confidence. I work with teens and adults (with or without ADHD) for 30—or 50-minute sessions to provide them with strategies to manage everyday life and reach their potential. We set the goals they want to achieve, break them down into manageable steps with timelines, and work towards those goals using the strategies I teach them to accomplish them.
What matters most to you?
– Helping people believe they can reach their full potential and seeing them succeed. Why? Many didn’t have the best teachers/parents to encourage them to use their strengths and do what they enjoy.
Many were passed over because they may have struggled with the school system’s traditional teachings, and many were not diagnosed with a different learning style (ADHD, Autism). Therefore, they struggled to find their place, dreams, or potential and often suffered from low self-esteem and low self-confidence. When an individual learns that they are, in fact, talented, smart, or even capable of doing great things, it’s amazing to see the transformation. Helping people discover and reach their potential is rewarding.
