Today we’d like to introduce you to Julia Adragna
Hi Julia , thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I started my business with my mother Fran in 2018. My mom and I always loved to shop together but we especially had a love for prom gowns & special occasion dresses! This store was our dream come true, we named the store after my youngest sister Giana Rose mainly because we love her name and we are just a very tight knit family. My sisters Ally and Giana both joined us at the store after graduating college so working with my mom and sisters has been the greatest joy in my life! We really try to make our store more of an experience for our customers, they are all so important to us and we want to make sure they know that as soon as they walk in. Shopping for prom, weddings, and other important life events can be so stressful so we really just want all of those customers to be taken care of and have an amazing time shopping.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
2020 was our hardest year, it was only our second year open and when the COVID shut down happened it flipped my world upside down. We had to close our store for months in our busiest time, I really was not sure if we would ever make it through that time so I feel very blessed and grateful for our amazing customers and staff who continued their support during that time. We did have a ton of inventory that was not able to be sold during that time but we found an amazing inner city school that we could donate to and be able to give back during that time.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
We sell clothes, jewelry, shoes, evening gowns, mother of the bride/groom gowns, prom gowns, bridesmaids, cocktail dresses and more! We carry high end name brands as well as more affordable boutique brands so there really is something for everyone! Our goal as a mother-daughter owned store was to have clothing for women of all ages. Our customers age ranges as we sell high school aged clothing to grandmother of the bride/groom dresses. We have also expanded our inclusive sizing for our gowns to go up to plus size 24. We hope to continue to grow and expand our options for as many years as possible!
Any big plans?
We would love to add more locations eventually! We just recently expanded our space and have added 9 more fitting rooms and a second floor. We hope we can just continue to grow our small business.
