Today we’d like to introduce you to Jen Cameron
Hi Jen, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Real Estate was always a part of my life. Many of my family members were in real estate as agents, builders, and land developers. It was not something I had planned on for myself, although I had a background in working for a lender and a land title company. Fast forward and as life circumstances unfolded and I found myself about to become a single mother of 2 that needed to have have flexibility it made all the sense in the world. About the time that I got into real estate, my daughter was diagnosed with Autism. The flexibility to be present for both of my kids lives through creating my own schedule, coupled with the ability to provide them with a great life were key in my decision to get my real estate license. It has truly been the best career I could have asked for.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It was not always a smooth road. There were a lot of struggles along the way and a lot of sacrifices that had to be made. One of the most challenging moments was when the market crashed and we lost nearly everything I had worked so hard for and had to start again. I have always been someone that lives below my means and saves for tough times. That is key if you want to be successful in real estate. That carried me through those dark years. Real Estate is a business that requires that you “bounce” you fall down and you get right back up. It takes a lot of ingenuity, creativity, perseverance and strength do be successful long term.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Two years ago I made the leap and opened my own real estate brokerage The Agency Seattle. It is a franchise of “The Agency” which started in Beverly Hills when Maurcio Umansky and his partner Billy Rose went out on their own to create The Brand. I have always had the entrepreneur spirit and the timing and opportunity made sense. I had long admired the brands energy, collaborative spirit, and marketing prowess. I sell full time in addition to owning the brokerage. I wanted to access to what The Agency had to offer agents for myself and others that felt the same so I brought it to Seattle and we have had incredible success with amazing people. I like being busy and I have a background in building brands for others but now I get to do it for me and our team at The Agency Seattle. People ask how I handle being so busy but I love what I do. I work hard and get so much out of helping others achieve success too. My agents at The Agency Seattle and I operate as a team cheering each other on and motivating each other to be and achieve our best. We have a lot of fun doing it too!
So, before we go, how can our readers or others connect or collaborate with you? How can they support you?
I am always grateful for anyone that trusts me with referring their friends and those they know to myself and The Agency Seattle. I work hard to make sure that everyone has the best experience they can possible have. If you or anyone you know is looking to purchase real estate or has questions about the market in general, I’d love to hear from them.
