Today we’d like to introduce you to Excel Ansong.
Hi Excel, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
The Grace Vision was born from a deep desire to bring people’s creative visions to life. My journey began as a small business owner for We Are Crown’d, where I learned the ins and outs of building a brand from scratch. Along the way, I realized how much I loved helping others succeed—whether that meant guiding them on brand strategy, helping them design a cohesive identity, or simply sharing tips to make the overwhelming world of business feel a little easier.
It wasn’t always easy. I had to juggle wearing multiple hats as a creative director, marketing expert, and operations manager. But I loved the challenge, and through trial, error, and a lot of growth, I developed the skills to help others do the same.
The Grace Vision grew out of those experiences and my passion for empowering others—especially women entrepreneurs, creatives, and small business owners. Today, The Grace Vision is more than a business; it’s a safe space where people feel seen, celebrated, and supported as they bring their dreams to life.
It’s been a journey of grit, grace, and vision, and I’m proud of how far it’s come. What keeps me going is knowing that my work not only uplifts brands but the people behind them.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Absolutely not—it’s been anything but a smooth road. Entrepreneurship is full of highs and lows, and starting The Grace Vision came with its fair share of challenges. One of the biggest struggles was learning how to juggle everything—being the creative mind behind the brand while also managing marketing, operations, and client relationships. It was overwhelming at times, especially in the early days when I was figuring things out on my own.
Another challenge was overcoming self-doubt. Building something from scratch means constantly putting yourself out there, and there were moments when I questioned whether I was capable of making it all work. But I had to remind myself of my ‘why’—my passion for empowering others and creating a lasting impact—and that helped me push through.
I also learned that failure isn’t the end; it’s a stepping stone. There were times when things didn’t go as planned—whether it was a launch that didn’t hit the mark or an idea that didn’t resonate. But those moments taught me resilience and the importance of pivoting with grace.
Looking back, every struggle helped me grow and shape The Grace Vision into what it is today. The road may not have been smooth, but it’s been worth every bump and curve because it’s led me to a place where I get to help others succeed.

Do you have any advice for those just starting out?
My biggest advice for anyone just starting out is to embrace the journey and give yourself grace. Building something from the ground up is a process, and it’s okay if things don’t happen overnight. Stay committed to your vision and remind yourself why you started, especially during the tough times.
One thing I wish I knew when I was starting out is that you don’t have to have it all figured out right away. It’s easy to compare yourself to others who seem further along, but everyone’s path is different. Focus on your own growth, and don’t be afraid to start small. Progress is better than perfection.
Another piece of advice is to invest in your mindset as much as your business. Self-doubt will creep in, and there will be moments when you feel like giving up. Surround yourself with people who inspire and encourage you, and don’t underestimate the power of self-belief. You are capable of more than you think.
Lastly, remember that mistakes are part of the process. Every misstep is a learning opportunity that brings you closer to where you’re meant to be. Be patient with yourself, keep learning, and celebrate every win, no matter how small. The journey won’t always be easy, but it will absolutely be worth it.
