Today we’d like to introduce you to Erica Lent.
Hi Erica, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
My love for cooking started at a young age, being able to my mom cook every night. I went to culinary school and worked in fine dining restaurants for over 13 years. Now I’m currently owner and chef of Boards by Erica, a Seattle based charcuterie company.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Like most job journeys the road has not been smooth, but has taught me a lot. The long hours on your feet, constant negative atmospheres and the low pay really started to add up and left me feeling uninspired. Which is why I left the restaurant industry and started my own business.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Boards by Erica?
Boards by Erica is a Seattle based women owned charcuterie company. We specialize in charcuterie cups, boards and grazing tables, as well as customizable spreads, like a brunch table and bread and spread boards.
What sets us apart from others is my classically trained background and my extensive knowledge in different cuisines and flavor profiles.
We have grown our business exponentially in just 6 short months and can’t wait for more people to learn about us!
Can you share something surprising about yourself?
I competed on the Food Networks “Chopped”
