Today we’d like to introduce you to Breanna Owen
Hi Breanna, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I’ll be honest, my career has been a fairytale…
…In the same way most fairytales spend the bulk of the story overcoming evil stepmothers, fighting off fire-breathing dragons, or trying all the things looking for the one that fits “just right.”
I struggled for many, many years trying to figure out what I wanted to do. Much like Goldilocks, I tried out a lot of jobs and industries that were too hot or too cold, all in search of my “just right.”
I spent several years in direct sales as a young, stay-at-home mom desperate to make some side cash for my family.
There was a short stint working at my local mall where I learned that retail life is definitely not for me.
I stumbled into copywriting by way of a marketing internship in 2017. But even still, the road from there to where I’m at today has been long and winding, to say the least.
In between little projects scattered along the way, there was a side quest with a tech start-up, a six-year stint serving an anti-trafficking non-profit, and a year of fast paced corporate marketing — none of them feeling “just right.”
Yet, every “eh, not quite” helped me narrow down the thing I was looking for.
It was incredibly frustrating and at times discouraging. Anyone who has done it knows first hand that wading through the unknown is uncomfortable AF.
I also did not have a fairy godmother to give me a magical makeover, but I did seek out key mentors who were instrumental in guiding me along the way.
The good news is I’ve made it to my “happily ever after” era.
At first, I thought I arrived here by accident — but now I realize it was because I kept going when things got hard and the next steps forward were uncertain.
Don’t get me wrong. It’s still fresh. Like hot off the presses and the ink could still smudge “fresh”— but I’m determined that my story is going to get better and better with every sequel.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
While anyone in marketing, particularly digital marketing will tell you that it can be a challenge to stay one step ahead of the ever-changing trends and overcoming tight budgets in order to land clients can be a beast, — the biggest dragon I’ve had to slay in this story was me.
I got in my own way time and time again.
By and far, I struggled with self-doubt, discomfort, a lack of confidence, and non-existent self-worth more than anything else. I didn’t know this until recently, but I’m also neurodivergent and had inadvertently set myself up for failure throughout my journey.
Because of not fully understanding what worked best for me, my journey was often two steps forward and one step back — with an occasional cha-cha slide to the left thrown in there for good measure.
I embraced a “never say never” attitude to the extreme, always saying “yes.” — thinking the next “yes” would be the thing that led me to my happily ever after.
Turns out… not all yeses are good for me.
Eventually, I caught onto which ones cause frustration instead of satisfaction.
And I’ve learned to say “no” to things that don’t feel right for me.
> No, I won’t work in the office full time.
> No, I won’t offer social media copy anymore.
> No, I won’t work on an hourly basis.
Giving myself permission to look inward and start prioritizing self awareness and learning more about who I am, what brings me joy, and what I enjoy doing has been a powerful weapon against self-sabotage.
Confidence is a muscle.
Every time I complete something I enjoy, my confidence grows. I have built a community of people who remind me of my awesomeness, and I have a file in easy reach of positive client feedback to read through as needed.
The biggest difference maker in my story has been in wholly believing to my core that I am good, even uniquely gifted, at what I do. I have value and can help make the world a better place just by being me.
It might sound silly, but my lack of self-worth held me back at every turn. And believing in myself is helping me break free from that curse.
Ultimately, leaning fully into who I am has made all the difference in my life — and my business.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m specifically skilled at being able to listen to a business owner and pinpoint things their audience wants — and needs — to hear to take that next best step with the business.
I translate that brilliance into done-for-you-email sequences that get prospects to go from “ehh…idk” to “I’m in — take my money!”
Email strategy and copywriting are my jam!
I’m known for my “mic drop moments” in client calls, and I’m often told that I’m a magical genius for the way that I put things together. I think I’m pretty fun to work with, too!
Sounds simple as I say it, but it’s pretty powerful when it all comes together.
One of my favorite comments that recently was shared by a client is, “Breanna wrote some emails for me and there’s no way AI – or I – could have ever created what she did. She’s amazing!”
That’s pretty special to me.
I help service-based business owners make a bigger impact in their business and how they serve people because I love supporting other businesses by helping them do their thing!
Plus, I’m a great hype partner!
My “done-for-you” service includes a custom 5-email sequence to get your prospect to say, “I’m in!” and take the next best step!
And my “done-with-you” service includes collaborative strategy sessions that provide direction, clarity, and tangible action items you can take and implement on your own. Perfect for when you just want to know what to do!
If you’d rather do it yourself, I offer an Email Strategy Workbook that helps clients plan a whole year of nurture email ideas to serve their audience and grow their business — without wanting to throw the computer against a wall.

Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
I’m obsessed with houseplants. I probably have close to 100 plants at this point. What can I say — I enjoy feeling like I live in an indoor jungle.
I lean into human design so hard! Human design has been a major tool for me to learn how I operate best as a business owner — and human in general. And it’s really fun to incorporate it into the work I do with clients on occasion.
Honestly, much of what I’ve learned about communicating in business comes from parenting four incredibly different and amazing small humans, too.
