Today we’d like to introduce you to Alison Pandora
Hi Alison, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My story is immense! I’ll start at the beginning. I was born in Northern New Jersey, and put in the care of the foster care system. At three months old I was adopted by my parents who were Jehovah’s Witnesses.
Looking back on my life now I see how much my past experiences have impacted the way I see life on a whole. For so long I felt trapped, and unable to accept myself, which impacted all my actions and relationships.
Now I understand each breath is a gift no matter what the past, present moment, or future have in store. There’s a lot more about my life coming up in my book.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Some of the struggles of my bumpy past include living in a strict household, significant trauma, eating disorders, unhealthy relationships, low self-esteem, feeling alone, and grief. The common thread through it all was an innate inner knowing that there was so much more to life than these struggles.
As you know, we’re big fans of Alignments 17. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
Alignments 17 is a business that helps elevate society. We do this through the use of breathwork, meditation, gentle chair yoga, yoga, and other wellness enhancers.
We cater to the needs of the community we are serve whether that be Senior Communities, Corporate, Adult Education, or personal clients.
What were you like growing up?
I was genuinely a happy, fun kid. I loved to sing, dance, make up performances in my room. I had a bunch of friends in school who always made me feel welcome despite me being different (not celebrating holidays, not doing the flag salute, etc.)
I loved music- it was and still is one of my favorite things in this world. I liked to read, loved to write in my journal, I loved working with kids. I was babysitting at 12, and had pleasant relationships with parents and families as I grew into nannying and working in schools.
I was also very private. A lot was going on in my home that I didn’t understand, and I navigated a lot of that in my head. I have learned to do things differently now.
I’m very thankful for this life. Grateful for healthy perspectives, aligned guidance, my breath and unconditional love.
