Owning a business is challenging – from increasing costs, regulations, competition and more the day to day of being a business owner if often far from glamorous. However, the reason so many of us do what we do is the moments when we are able to come through in a big way for our clients. The moments when we know we’ve made a real difference. Every entrepreneur we know wants to increase the frequency of those moments and so we think one of the best ways to do that is by having people share their stories with others – we can all learn from each other and become better recognizing and executing on opportunities to help our clients win.

Dreams Manifest was born out of a personal desire for clarity and response to an inner knowing that life had to have more to offer than the impending burn out my 9-5 (sometimes 9-2am) did. I was at a fork in the road. I was living what many would consider “the life”. Our daily work at Elevation Community Land Trust (ECLT) involves working with potential buyers who often face historic and systemic challenges to achieve their homeownership dreams in the current home market. Every applicant must apply to our program and meet our program requirements. For some applicants, this home-buying process may be overwhelming, however ECLT offers several resources and technical support for those who need assistance with the application process to get on the path to homeownership. One of my customer success stories started just this way. This particular customer would come in fairly regular, but wouldn’t really let anyone wait on her. I was determined that she was going to be my new best friend, and guess what, She is. I took the time to visit with her on each visit, asking about family, etc. Little by little she would open up and share some of her life experiences, some being extremely sad and others so much fun. Getting to know her in this way, broke the barrier of trying to sell her something and instead, finding things you knew she would truly love. I now dress her daughter in law and granddaughter, that live in other parts of Texas. Our relationship has spanned over 30 years and she has been a huge blessing in my life. Read More >>

A few months ago, I had a new client reach out to me about designing a logo for her athletic wear brand. From our initial contact I could tell she was inexperienced in working with graphic designers and was hesitant about the whole process. She didn’t want to pay a deposit which made me automatically think she was going to be a difficult client to work with. Read more>>

A wonderful outcome of ShareMyJourney are the authentic relationships that have developed among people who otherwise would have never met. For example, two women who lost their husbands suddenly in their early 30’s, one in California and one in Ohio, developed an instant connection. Read more>>
