Today we’d like to introduce you to Toi Bijou.
Hi Toi, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My journey has been an exciting adventure with a few bumps along the way! My passion for anything I’ve decided to do definitely kept me on my toes. I’m very big on learning new things and the Virgo in me wants to master it all. For anyone that hasn’t read any of my previous articles here’s a little back story. I’m a Mississippi girl living in Louisiana I have a background in modeling, content creation, and interior decorating.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road but every bump has taught me something valuable. Balancing school, work, and personal growth while healing from childhood trauma and navigating anxiety and depression has been challenging. There were times I questioned everything, especially when starting over felt like the only option. But that’s also where I found my strength. I’ve learned to welcome change, take criticism as a tool for growth, and trust that reinvention is part of the process. My journey has been far from perfect, but it’s mine and I’m proud of how far I’ve come.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m a business administration and management student with a flair for creativity and a passion for reinvention. My roots in modeling and love for interior decorating have given me a strong eye for detail and design. What I’m most proud of is my ability to evolve — I welcome change with open arms and see every new beginning as an opportunity to grow. What truly sets me apart is that I don’t fear failure or feedback. I see both as fuel, not setbacks. Whatever I choose to do in life, I bring bold energy, an open mind, and a commitment to constantly becoming my best self.
Do you have any advice for those looking to network or find a mentor?
My best advice for finding a mentor or building your network is to start by being genuinely curious about people. Ask questions, listen more than you speak, and be open to learning from unexpected places. For me, blending business with creative spaces like modeling and interior decorating has helped me connect with people from all walks of life. What’s worked well is showing up as my authentic self — not just chasing titles, but building real relationships. I’ve learned that mentorship often grows naturally when you’re passionate, open to feedback, and unafraid to share your journey, even the messy parts. People connect with that.
