My Life Story: A Journey of Resilience and Transformation
I’ve always believed that technology can be wielded for the greater good rather than for greed. This belief was solidified during the recent crypto crash, a moment that underscored how the tools of innovation can be manipulated. Yet, amidst the turmoil, I see the potential for a renaissance, a phoenix rising from the ashes. The technology behind cryptocurrency is fundamentally sound and has incredible use cases when applied appropriately.
In my journey of life, I’ve been fortunate to connect with brilliant minds and characters throughout the world and most importantly my Family members and the support they have given me.
A pivotal moment in my journey occurred at an LA NFT event, where we discussed the groundbreaking technology of multi-spectral imaging used to analyze classic artworks. One striking example was Leonardo da Vinci’s works, which we dissected to uncover layers of history and artistic intention. This technology allows us to visualize the original sketches and intentions of artists, revealing their thought processes and the influences surrounding them. For me, this mirrors my own life story—a quest to peel back the layers of my past and understand the complexities that have shaped who I am today.
Growing up, my life was a tapestry of experiences—some light and some dark. The journey of overcoming alcoholism was one of the most challenging and transformative phases of my life. I navigated through moments of despair, finding myself in Milan at one of my lowest points. The vibrant streets contrasted starkly with my inner turmoil, reflecting the duality of my existence. In that city, I faced the demons that had haunted me for so long, grappling with the consequences of my choices and the impact on my family. My siblings, who walked their own paths, provided both a mirror and a lifeline, reminding me of the importance of connection and support.
The process of recovery was not linear; it was filled with painful relivings of the past, much like the artists whose works I admire. In writing my life story, I’ve often drawn parallels between my experiences and the stories embedded in the canvases I’ve explored. Each brushstroke, each decision in my life, has contributed to the final picture of who I am today.
As I look to the future, the idea of writing a book about my life has become more than just a fleeting thought; it has become a calling. I’ve been encouraged to share not only my triumphs but also the struggles and lessons learned along the way. This writing process has been therapeutic, offering me a chance to reflect on how far I’ve come and the growth I’ve experienced through the challenges I’ve faced.
In the midst of all this, I remain curious about the world around me. I’ve traveled extensively, yet I yearn to explore even more cultures and societies, to dive deep into the richness of human experiences that differ from my own. It’s not just about visiting new places; it’s about truly immersing myself in different ways of life.
Ultimately, I aspire to leave a legacy that reflects the lessons learned throughout my life. I want my story to resonate with others who may be struggling, showing them that transformation is possible. Just as art tells a story through its layers, my life narrative holds the potential to inspire, to connect, and to illuminate the path of resilience and hope.
In my professional life, I work with Authentify as a freelance consultant and i am based currently in the Dominican Republic as a resident here, at Authentify we aim to revolutionize the art world through technology. Our mission is to bring security and transparency to art management and ownership. I engage with various stakeholders, sharing insights about art history and the intricate processes behind authenticity and attribution. This work aligns with my passion for storytelling, allowing me to weave together the threads of art, technology, and human experience.
As I continue to navigate this journey, I hold onto the belief that every experience—whether joyous or painful—contributes to the tapestry of life. And just like the artists I admire, I aim to embrace every stroke of my journey with authenticity and purpose.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Recovery from Alcoholism: A Journey of Transformation
The journey of recovery from alcoholism has been one of the most profound transformations in my life. It was not a linear path but rather a winding road filled with challenges, setbacks, and moments of clarity. I found myself grappling with the consequences of my choices, often at my lowest points. One particularly dark chapter unfolded in Milan, a city that should have been vibrant and full of life but instead became a backdrop for my struggles and the ensuing accident in London.
In those moments of despair, I faced my demons head-on. It was a time of deep reflection, where I was forced to confront the person I had become and the impact of my addiction on my relationships, especially with my family and siblings. Their unwavering support became a lifeline, reminding me of the love that still existed despite the turmoil I had caused. I realized that recovery was not just about stopping drinking; it was about reclaiming my life, understanding my past, and embracing the possibility of a brighter future.
Through the process of recovery, I learned invaluable lessons about resilience, vulnerability, and the power of self-forgiveness. I began to peel back the layers of my identity, uncovering the reasons behind my addiction and the coping mechanisms I had relied upon. This journey was akin to the multi-spectral imaging used to reveal the hidden stories in artworks—each layer I uncovered provided insights into my motivations, fears, and desires.
As I embraced sobriety, I discovered a newfound sense of clarity and purpose. I became passionate about sharing my story, not only to hold myself accountable but also to inspire others who may be struggling. This experience has shaped my perspective on life, allowing me to appreciate the beauty of each moment and the importance of living authentically.
Today, I stand transformed—a testament to the strength of the human spirit. I no longer shy away from my past; instead, I embrace it as a vital part of my journey. I’ve learned that life is about the lessons we gather along the way, and I’m committed to using my experiences to uplift others. My recovery has become the foundation upon which I build my life, guiding me toward a future filled with hope, connection, and purpose.

Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
The most important lesson I’ve learned throughout my journey is the profound power of resilience and transformation. Life has a way of presenting challenges that can feel insurmountable, whether it be my struggles with alcoholism or the ups and downs of navigating the complex world of art. In facing these challenges head-on, I’ve come to understand that our experiences, both good and bad, shape who we are and ultimately lead us to a greater purpose.
In my battle with addiction, I discovered that vulnerability is not a weakness; rather, it is a strength that allows for growth and healing. Embracing my past and the darkness I experienced in places all over the world has not only transformed my perspective on life but also deepened my empathy for others who may be facing similar struggles. Recovery has taught me the value of authenticity, humility, and the importance of leaning on my support system, including my family and siblings, who have stood by me during my toughest times.
This lesson in resilience extends to my professional life as well. In the art market, I’ve encountered numerous obstacles, from market fluctuations to shifting trends. Each challenge has reinforced my belief that adaptability and continuous learning are essential for success. The art world is ever-changing, and embracing that change allows me to remain relevant and impactful.
Ultimately, my journey has shown me that the key to personal and professional growth lies in the willingness to learn from our experiences, to rise after we fall, and to remain open to the possibilities that life offers. This lesson in resilience continues to guide me as I strive to create a meaningful legacy, both in my work at Authentify and in my personal life.
