Today we’d like to introduce you to Tambra Cherie
Hi Tambra , please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Dedication. Hard work. Persistence. Consistency. There was no Plan B. I’ve always had a love for entertainment, music, and people. I’ve always loved helping and talking to people. I have a passion for people. I just combined everything I loved into a career. I’ve always loved hosting and making sure others were good and having a good time. I loved entertaining. I loved motivating and helping. You can do all that in radio & television. You can do all that in entertainment. I worked like there was no Plan B. Radio and entertainment was Plan A, B, and C. I always believed that whatever you focus on, grows. I focused on my career. I started interning at a radio station upon graduation from college and I fell in love. I was in love with the environment. I was in love with grind and hustle of it all. I fell in love with the audience and the music. I knew upon interning that I had truly found my passion. I started working with a local television producer who was doing an entertainment video show. I started hosting and doing interviews on that show which started another entertainment television show where we would cover events, festivals and parties. I would not only interview artists but just anyone in attendance. I would interview people in the crowd. I loved talking to people. My first interview was with the artist Mystikal in a club in front of about 100 people watching. I knew then I loved entertainment. I remember interviewing R & B artist Eric Benet on a couch in a venue while he was eating chicken! I loved all that excitement. It was fun and entertaining.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The road has definitely had its bumps and curves along the way. I’m thankful for the challenges because its taught me a few lessons along the way. I had to learn a lot. Everything I’ve done in entertainment has been hands on experience. I’ve had some great mentors and people I look up to that have given me some great advice and guidance. I’m still learning and I still appreciate those leaders in the industry who continue to pour into me when it comes to my career in radio and television. Even as an entrepreneur and a brand. As a radio personality and especially a TV personality, you can’t wear your heart on your sleeves. You have to develop some tough skin. You have to be okay with hearing ‘no’ and saying, ‘no.” You have to have boundaries. People will test those boundaries. You have to be okay with criticism. It comes with the job. Not everyone will agree with you and that’s okay.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a full time Midday radio & television personality. I’ve been a radio personality for the past 20 years. I’m also an entertainment news correspondent, entertainment news reporter, television personality, host, author, speaker, spokesperson, and entrepreneur. I’ve worked with networks such as Lifetime, TV One, OWN, and FOX. I’m co-host of the podcast, There I Said It. I’m the author of Surrounded By Sin, Grounded By Love: 8 Simple Keys to Becoming a Better You. I also believe in promoting healthier lifestyles throughout communities. During the pandemic, I released, “Tambra Cherie’s Favorite Immunity Tea,” which includes high quality herbs designed to boost your immune system. I’m an advocate for a number of issues that are important to me. I recently served as an advocate for the Stephanie Tubbs Jones Uterine Fibroid Research & Education Act of 2021, sharing my message with various Congress members to help advocate for awareness, education, and change on behalf of women across the country. I believe my personality sets me apart from others. My personality, my drive, my commitment and my love to help others. My love for people.
The crisis has affected us all in different ways. How has it affected you and any important lessons or epiphanies you can share with us?
During the pandemic, life changed for everyone. In radio, we not only became a source of entertainment but also for vital information, motivation, encouragement, and inspiration. Sometimes we didn’t always have the answers ourselves, but we tried our best for our listeners and for our audience. The pandemic also taught me to live more. To appreciate people even more. We became closer as a community. We had to work together. During the pandemic, I also started delivering my Favorite Immunity Tea to friends and family who needed it. Now, its a whole business. I believe its important to watch what we put into our bodies. I would advise anyone to purchase “Tambra Cherie’s Favorite Immunity Tea.” I am one of those personalities who never stopped working during the pandemic and I have never had Covid-19. I’m thankful for that.
