Today we’d like to introduce you to Stephanie Cedeno
Hi Stephanie, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
In 2019, I started ,my business, CedCareCo., by offering hand-poured candles. Over the years, I expanded my offerings to include herbal teas and recently, handmade crochet pieces. I find inspiration for my creations through reflection on my experiences, ranging from childhood to motherhood. Crocheting has been an outlet for my creativity, and I’ve explored it through photoshoots, fashion shows, and workshops. Teaching crochet has become a passion, and I’ve introduced Cacred Circles, a series of workshops where we learn new skills and connect through the shared vulnerability of being a student. It’s a space for exploring creativity and embracing the sacredness of working with our hands. A true reflection of my journey with CedCareCo.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Throughout any journey, there are highs and lows. To claim that everything has been easy would be unfair to the knowledge gained along the way. While there have been challenges, I have learned a lot about persistence and purpose. Some of the difficulties I have faced include maintaining consistency and knowing when it’s time to take a break. I truly believe that as a creative individual, having the time and space to live and process life is crucial to the quality of art we produce.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am an artist and I create wearable art through crocheting. I specialize in pieces with a sensual nature, but I also like to explore the broader aspects that crocheting offers. I enjoy blending masculine and feminine energies is my work. My expertise lies in crochet in general, whether it involves teaching, creative directing, or creating custom and premade pieces. Crochet has become a significant part of my life. I take pride in authentically showcasing my creations, as each piece reflects my genuine passion. However, I am most proud of my faith and the increasing connection to God through my creative process. Through crochet, I have been able to express various parts of myself, and I believe that my unique vision and authentic approach set me apart from others.
Are there any books, apps, podcasts or blogs that help you do your best?
I love Pinterest. I enjoy using it for inspiration, even if its not related to crochet. Seeing colors and silhouettes can inspire me. I prefer drawing inspiration from nature, so one of my most reliable resources is going outside. Whether it’s going to the beach, the park or anywhere with water, grass or trees, I always feel inspired. If nothing else, it grounds me, which is also an essential part of the creative process and life in general.
