Today we’d like to introduce you to Shawana Davenport-chapple
Hi Shawana, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
My story started with service. My profession at the time allowed me the opportunity to take care of some amazing people in their final days. I love helping/inspiring others through the tools or lessons that I have learned. Today, I am an international award-winning author of a children’s book “The Good Fortune”. Through literacy, I was able to create a family bonding experience for families.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has definitely been a learning experience. Some of the obstacles I encountered were learning some of the major differences between being a traditional author or self-published.The self published author tasks are many as you will take a more pivotal role in making sure your book is published, and advertised well. It is also important to create a marketing strategy to reach your target audience.

I am an International Award-Winning Author. I am known for my children’s debut book “The Good Fortune”. I am most proud of our recent projects that includes our animation and stage play based on “The Good Fortune” book. I believe what sets me apart from others is my ability to create diverse experiences through literary and learning opportunities in a exciting way.
Risk taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
Risk-Taking equates to opportunities. One of the biggest risk I encountered involved me choosing to follow a life long dream of becoming an author or continue my life as I had. I chose the life long dream and it was the best decision I ever made. It has created opportunities for me that I would have otherwise missed if I had not taken the risk.
