Today we’d like to introduce you to Oguvre Solomon Ogheneothuke
Hi Oguvre, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I would say my journey as an artist started in a most unintentional way!
As a kid i always admired artwork and this curiosity of mine made me explore fine art by scribbling down the pictures of famous cartoon characters.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Smooth road? Far from from it!
Growing up with the intention of being a professional artist from where i come from was met with a lot of doubts from everyone except my family.
I also had (struggle) with the financial burdens of creating and making ends meet while being rejected multiple times.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I started of with drawing (like every regular artist would) before venturing into painting.
Now I’m into leather collage as part of my exploration as a person. I am mostly proud of the fact that my works goes against conventionality as this was something I have wanted to do and be known for and i think this has to be my biggest flex!
