Today we’d like to introduce you to Myde Glover.
Hi Myde, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started professionally in 2020, got an opportunity to act a scene in a series by one of my favorite filmmakers and I ran with it and never stopped.
I also always knew that I wanted to tell stories from a very young age. It’s one of the things that has kept me going.
Today I have over 20 titles to my name. I have works on streamers like Netflix, Prime video, Showmax. I’ve screened my personal works to different audiences and different festivals.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It hasn’t been a smooth road. Some days are worse than others, like when it feels like nothing is happening or moving, knowing that this is my calling and knowing that it’s either this or this, I get up and keep going because in the end, consistency is key.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m an Actor, Producer, writer and Director. I’m passionate about telling African stories and telling African stories for the global world.
Any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general?
I’m very terrible at that but I do think that it’s important to have a mentor, someone who can hold you accountable. For me I do have a few industry professionals that I know I can reach out to if I need it.
