Today we’d like to introduce you to Melinda Matticoli

Hi Melinda, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.

I started dancing at 3, and began professionally working a few years ago! I work in New York and Los Angeles and hop between the coasts. I love working on film and in the contemporary field.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?

It has been a rocky road! Finding genuine people throughout my journey has been extremely helpful, and spending time finding others to uplift and support my journey has been great. Finances have been a struggle along the way, as a lot of early career work is not paid. But, throughout my journey, it has all been so worth it.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?

I specialize in contemporary dance and choreography! Some artists I have gotten the opportunity to work with thus far in my career include Steven Blandino, Kevin Jenkins, just to name a few! My choreography has also gotten the opportunity to be showcased and screened at festivals including New York International Film Awards, Club Jete, Sybarite Love is Love, and Club NYC. I also recently worked on digital marketing campaigns with Peerspace, Goldfish, and 8Greens. I feel my genuine connection and eagerness to support others has set me apart from others in this industry.

Do you any memories from childhood that you can share with us?

My favorite childhood memory is going into my playroom and making up dances, and remembering how good that made me feel. I hope to make little me proud every day.
