Today we’d like to introduce you to Madison Pivonka
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My name is Maddie Pivonka, and I am a professional dancer originally from Arizona but currently based out of New York City. I was lucky enough to travel the world this past year as a dancer with Norwegian Cruise Lines where I got to experience all different cultures and foods. Speaking of food, I am a big foodie, and I have a food page @pivonkasplate on Instagram. My page first started as a guide to eating healthy in college while managing food sensitivities. Follow along to see my adventures in New York City as I balance the hustle of auditioning and enjoying life.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Absolutely not! As Rascal Flatts puts it “life is a highwayyyy” with lots of bumps and curves and hills and dips. We all have our own challenges, but as a dancer there is always the struggle of not comparing yourself to the artist next to you. When you focus on the person next to you, you lose sight of how far you have come in your own journey. So, no, it has not been easy at all, but its been so worth it!
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I specialize in dance! I guess I would also say I am a triple threat: dancing, singing, and acting because I have performed in all three genres, but dance is my favorite art form. Precision Jazz is specifically my favorite (the style that the Radio City Rockettes perform). For some reason it ignites by brain in just the right way, and I love it! However, putting all my eggs in one basket is not smart or the most fulfilling so I train in all styles. I am proud of my resilience for sure and getting past all the “no”s that lead to the oh so special “YES”. I think my determination sets me apart from others because I am always looking forward to see what I can do to propel my career.
Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
You don’t have to be ready to start! If you want to do something…do it!! And if you’re not confident…fake it till ya make it.
