Today we’d like to introduce you to Lauren Farrell

Hi Lauren, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.

In college, I took my first shot of Fireball and it instantly reminded me of Big Red gum. Growing up, my grandfather had a candy drawer that always had Big Red and Juicy Fruit gum. So jokingly after taking the shot and saying it tasted like Big Red, I said, “they need the opposite of Fireball, they need JOOICY Tits”. The people around me thought the name was great. I took pen to paper in the coming days and realized how I could spell it and the proceeded to market test the name for eight years. People’s faces would light up and ask if it was real. They wanted shirts, bottles, cases, to work for me etc. so I finally said, the feedback is too positive not to figure out how to do this.

So I did a lot of research and spoke to the right people and in July 2022 JOOICY Tits Vodka was born. We produced and initially launched in Florida as the license process is easier there as opposed to our home state of New Jersey in which the license took almost two years to obtain. Through our distributor in Florida we can ship direct to consumer in 47 states and we have a physical presence in bars and liquor stores in New Jersey and Florida.

A portion of our profits supports various breast cancer charities doing incredible things so we like to say we “party for a purpose”. Our vodka is incredibly smooth, gluten-free and can be sipped straight or enjoyed with your favorite mixers!

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?

In the world of entrepreneurship, it is NEVER a smooth road! I always say you can be so on top of everything and cross your t’s and dot your i’s but it’s inevitable something always doesn’t go according to plan. For example, in our most recent production run, a large amount of the bottles were misprints. Our bottles are screen-printed in layers and it wasn’t until we got to Florida the day of the bottling portion of production that we realized this. As a small business every dollar counts so to have a loss of product due to someone’s quality control error is heartbreaking.

On top of the misprints, we were watching the production line and noticed every 4th bottle or so had a scratch on the bottle in the same spot. A piece of the tooling on the line was scratching off the paint at a point when bottles were separated by a mechanical divider. We had arrived after bottling started so once again a large amount of bottles were now “damaged”. As a small brand you know it’s important for every detail to be perfect and that you only have one shot at a first impression. This is a monetary loss you must face as well as an emotional rollercoaster when 1/4 of your production is misprinted or scratched.

Additionally, we had the labor to now go through all the already boxed bottles and pull the ones that we deem inadequate for sale. This is just one example of so many hurdles you face in the world of business. I could go on and on but let’s just say being an entrepreneur is not for the faint of heart!

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?

I am a proud entrepreneur but I think of the many hats one wears as an entrepreneur that my favorite is the creative side of things. From packaging design to logo design to marketing campaigns, this is where I have the most fun! I absolutely love creating a brand, building out its brand identity and then building and scaling that brand. I truly am most proud of JOOICY Tits Vodka and the simplicity but edginess in our branding and marketing. You need to stand out and that is something our brand definitely does.

I also love meeting amazing people constantly and love meeting entrepreneurs especially those that are just starting out. It can be a lonely road at times so it’s always nice to know as an entrepreneur you are not alone!

How do you define success?

It’s very personal as to what that is but for me individually, success will be achieved when I can walk into any bar or liquor store and see JOOICY Tits Vodka on the shelf.

In a more general sense, I think success is happiness which is a very personal thing for everyone. For me, happiness is freedom.
