Today we’d like to introduce you to Laghe Andrews
Hi Laghe, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Being predominantly an introverted being, it was movies, music, poetry, philosophy, and stories in all forms that captivated my mind and stimulated the beautifully creative side of me. Even though I came from what would be considered a broken home with a mother who sometimes found it hard to maintain emotional balance, I often witnessed the solace my mother received from various form of stimulating arts. Seeing first hand what forms of art can do for the mind, body, and soul is what set my passion for entertainment ablaze and from that point on I have sought out ways to connect the dots between art and entertainment to health and wellness.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Doing work that you feel can unify and empower a community of people is never a smooth road to travel. But it is a necessary one. There a always going to be people with hidden agendas who trying to get and stay close to you, people want to see you fail while trying to do everything they can to help that happen, lazy individuals who just want to ride while doing the bare minimum, and other souls who latch on to you for whatever reason, but that’s where fine tuning you discernment comes in. That in itself is a major pot hole in my journey because the Aquarius in me and my Jehovah Witness upbringing wants to see the good in everyone, give everyone a chance to start growing towards their full potential, and assist everyone in finding the tools they need to succeed. That is the quickest way to be a burden to yourself and your business. It has been a hard pill to so wallow and an equally as hard lesson to apply to my life and business, but it is actively happening.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Well, in a nutshell I create and provide platforms designed to bring together talented teams of individuals and to really help solidify opportunities for sustainable success. There are so many naturally creative people who could potentially make a life and living off of the amazing talents they possess but very seldom do we hear about people making it successfully on their own so I created a business to assist with making those things more accessible and realistic. My vision has been to transform LaGhe Music Entertainment into a comprehensive entertainment platform that serves as a sanctuary for the mental, physical, and emotional wellness within the black entertainment community. By fostering camaraderie and nurturing positive relationships, myself and the people I work with are dedicated to empowering individuals with the tools they need for success and growth in their creative journeys.
What matters most to you? Why?
What matters most to me is being able to help create ways for individuals to live prominently and thrive off of the talents and skills that make them the happiest using. When you think of the word ‘Job’, for most people in my community and communities like mine, it invokes some no to positive thoughts and emotions. But when you can start taking steps towards creating a reality where people are living their dreams while letting their dreams live it has the potential to change so many worlds which can CHANGE SO MANY WORLDS, if you know what I mean. It is a way of healing and healing and wellness is the goal for me.
