Today we’d like to introduce you to Kristy Mickelsen
Hi Kristy, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I am a Romance book author as well as some non fiction books. I also am the host of the W.W.A.A. Podcast, an advocate for causes such as cancer, autism, lupus awareness and for suicide prevention as well as other important causes. I also do user created content plus size modeling and i am a positivity social media influencer. In addition i also just started a business called Random Rose Author Services, in which I help new authors self publish their books and I guide them through marketing and PR work.
I actually got my start when my son dared me to try writing professionally after he saw me writing in journals at night. So i attempted a non fiction novela called nine months to autism.
When that started selling i researched everything about being an author and the publishing world and my career just took off from there.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
That is a wonderful question! I can’t really say it has been a smooth rode or that it was overly bumpy. I of course had my struggles when i first started. It was difficult to learn how to get my name out there and how to get my books seen. I actually went through a lot of trial and error, until i found my way on the path to success.
The key for me was to do things differently than what other authors do so that I can stand out among the crowd.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Well as I stated earlier, I am a book Author, A podcast host, an advocate and a user created content model. I also am a positivity social media influencer.
I think I am most known for my podcast and social media presence as I am an active user on my platforms.
I think i am most proud of the charity work that I do for all of the different causes I advocate for.
In fact one of the things I am most proud of is the charity fundraiser I am currently planning for September 13, 2025 for suicide prevention and awareness that will be held in Woodbridge New Jersey.
I personally have lost many friends and family due to suicide so this project touches home for me.

What would you say have been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
I think the most important thing I have learned is that what works for one person in my line of work, doesn’t always work for others.
Listen to your gut and do what works for you. It is so important to find your voice and carve out your own path, while still learning and growing from those who came before you in the business.
