Today we’d like to introduce you to Eveljne Turco.
Hi Eveljne, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
From an early age, I was drawn to the world of art, spending hours sketching and honing my craft. This passion led me to attend an artistic school, where I cultivated my skills and deepened my understanding of creativity. Eager to channel this energy into a career, I pursued an apprenticeship at a tattoo shop in Italy, learning the intricate art of tattooing under the guidance of experienced professionals.
After mastering the fundamentals, I took a bold step and opened my own tattoo shop, a milestone that allowed me to build my unique style and connect with clients who shared my vision. Later, I relocated to the UK, immersing myself in the thriving tattoo community by working with various shops, including one where I continue to guest to this day.
In pursuit of new experiences and inspiration, I took a year off to travel the world, ultimately landing in Australia. There, I worked as a tattoo artist for a year, refining my craft and gaining global insight into tattoo artistry. Returning to Italy, I embraced a nomadic lifestyle, working across Europe and sharing my art with diverse clients. Each chapter of my journey has enriched my craft and shaped the artist I am today.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
My journey as a tattoo artist has been full of challenges that shaped me both personally and professionally. Relocating to a new country where I didn’t speak the language was one of the toughest obstacles. Every interaction felt like an uphill battle, from finding housing to understanding cultural nuances. I didn’t know anyone who could guide me or lend a helping hand, so I had to figure out everything on my own, often through trial and error.
Starting fresh in unfamiliar places meant leaving behind the comfort of family and friends. The loneliness was overwhelming at times, and I often questioned if I had made the right decision. I missed the familiarity of home but knew I had to push forward to build a better future.
Entering the competitive tattoo industry in new markets brought its own struggles. I found myself surrounded by incredibly talented artists with years of experience. It was intimidating to stand alongside them, especially as someone still finding their footing. I had to constantly prove myself, work harder, and believe in my vision.
Despite these struggles, every hurdle became a lesson in resilience. These challenges fueled my growth, teaching me to adapt, persevere, and refine my craft against all odds.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
As a tattoo artist, I specialize in vibrant, colorful designs that showcase my love for creativity and artistic expression. My expertise lies in color tattoos, watercolor, and abstract styles, where I combine precision with artistic flair to create unique, eye-catching pieces. I’m particularly well-known for my delicate watercolor tattoos—ethereal designs that mimic the flow and softness of traditional watercolor paintings. These tattoos are a signature part of my portfolio and a source of pride, as they represent my ability to bring art to life on skin in a truly distinctive way.
What sets me apart from others is my commitment to evolution. My style is never stagnant; I’m constantly pushing myself to grow and experiment, taking inspiration from new techniques, trends, and personal experiences. I thrive on challenging myself and learning from other talented artists in the industry, ensuring that my work stays fresh and innovative.
Each tattoo I create is a collaboration with the client, carefully designed to reflect their personality while carrying my signature touch. For me, tattooing is not just a profession—it’s an ever-evolving art form and a journey that I approach with passion, dedication, and a drive to continually elevate my craft.
What would you say have been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
The most important lesson I’ve learned on my journey as a tattoo artist is to never stop believing in yourself, even when others doubt you. There were times when I felt underestimated, faced skepticism, or struggled to find support, especially when starting out in new environments or challenging myself to grow. It’s in those moments of doubt that I realized the importance of self-confidence and trusting my own vision. No one will believe in you more than you believe in yourself, and that belief becomes your driving force.
Another invaluable lesson is to embrace every step of the journey—whether it’s a triumph or a setback. The good moments remind you of what’s possible, and the tough ones teach you resilience and humility. Every mistake, challenge, or moment of failure is an opportunity to learn and grow. It’s all part of the process, shaping who you are as an artist and as a person.
Looking back, I’ve come to appreciate even the hardest times because they taught me patience, perseverance, and gratitude. Staying true to yourself and celebrating progress, no matter how small, is what transforms every experience into a meaningful lesson.
