Today we’d like to introduce you to BillZ BondZ.

Hi BillZ, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?

I started off rapping back in 2004ish. A few friends of mine got into a “rap beef” with another student on campus at my high school, Pine Forge Academy in Pine Forge, Pennsylvania. I heard the lyrics this dude was working with and decided I could write better than that. As my first song, I wrote a diss that I ended up performing for a visiting school and his bars didn’t inspire much from the crowd. Mine, however, had them going wild and I won via crowd decision. The rest is history

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?

I am 9 years, 1 month and 22 days sober from meth. It had a serious hold on me at the time I decided to give it up. During that time I didn’t create much music and was somehow convinced the drugs made me better at creating. Luckily I was wrong. After having to build my confidence back from nothing (as drug use erodes that almost completely), I found I was a better, more experienced, more ready artist. 9 albums later from 2017 to now, I am just now really understanding what I’m capable of.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?

I am a rapper. Stage named: BillZBondZ. I created that name to make it easier for fans to find my music as my 2nd moniker: LeyoNydaz wasn’t as understood immediately as I wanted it to be. 1st stage name was 2nyce by the way and I’m sure we’re all glad I didn’t stick with that one.
I am also a member of 2 groups. Sol and the Sisko, as the Sisko, and Double Dragon, as Red Dragon. Sol, from the first mentioned act is an extremely talented vocalist, who can sing, or rap more than proficiently and compliments my style as Sisko well. I got that name from Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. The captain on that show is a strong example of black male leadership and inspires me greatly. His character’s name is Captain Benjamin Sisko and that’s exactly why I chose that name. Double Dragon is a hip=hop duo form of BillZBondZ and Kpt. KaveMan, a rapper I met at my current job. Our styles are drastically different and that makes for a great mix.

I have 10 solo albums as BillZBondZ, One with Double Dragon (Sun Warrior Culture), One by Sol and the Sisko (Long Time Coming), one duo album with my most used producer and engineer, Prince Lockett. Few notes about Lockett, he freestyles most of his music whether singing or rapping. An insanely gifted artist to say the least! (Champagne Showers), and two hip-hop eps each exclusively produced by Cruzer Urameshi (When Worlds Collide) and Midwest Myles (Amplified EP). Cruzer Urameshi is a huge name in hip-hop production as well as a few other genres such as synth wave that he has no vocals on. Midwest Myles has a resume of artists that will shock anyone who looks him up. Both are extremely talented. A few big projects with those guys coming in 2025 too, stay tuned!

How do you think about luck?

Luck is extremely important. I work hard. And I put myself in the right places to be noticed working hard for the most part. But you can’t control when that notice happens, or if that’s going to be your best foot forward to show what you’re capable of IN THAT MOMENT. I have found that the more you work on being on point in those moments, the more on point you are in situations where you might have to prove it. Luck is a massive part of that IMO. I do my best to be prepared but one cannot be prepared for everything!
