Today we’d like to introduce you to Bébé Adebiyi
Hi Bébé, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Hi, yes, of course! Also thank you for having me back. I’m blessed and happy to be here, thank you.
Starting from childhood, I grew up in the beautiful and rich Island of Haiti. Although growing up in an Orphanage would not have been my first choice, it was there I got to meet the missionary couple who would become my parents. I’m forever grateful to them!
And now fast forwarding to two thousand and ten, when my impossible adoption process was made possible by a devastating earthquake that left the country in ruins. One of the craziest experiences I’ve ever experienced for sure, but nonetheless a huge blessing in disguise.
And then it was like boom! Not long after I’m in America. Boom! Im on FAMILY vacations. Boom! I’m in school, speaking terrible English that I just learned as my third language haha. And before you know it, it’s high school graduation and I have it set in my heart that I’m gonna be a Nurse. Obviously that never did happen.
After a little bit of traveling and a one time visit to New Orleans, the city instantly got a grip on my heart and I just never left. And with the history behind the city and the connections to Haitians, it makes a lot of sense why I felt so much at home here. It’s also here that I got with my first Modeling Agency, movie roles, and now have some of the most amazing, inspiring people around me. They even let me call them my friends and it’s the coolest honor.
As it’s starting to feel like a long walk now haha, I’ll just happily share with the readers- since last time we talked – just a few changes. I am now under FT45 Modeling Agency management, and I’m also back in school for Fashion&Designs. I’ve never felt more belonged in my life. Im so so happy to be on this journey, and ecstatic for the future!
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
No, honestly it has not been a smooth road, but I don’t mind it. A few of my struggles have been rejection, racism, colorism, and sometimes financial hardship to be in this competitive field.
Now I’ve come to appreciate the bumps and even look forward to them in a way.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am a Model, Actor, Influencer and Designer. Though at the moment I am more known for my Modeling, specializing in Print/Runway Fashion , Commercial Modeling and Content Creation.
And some of my proudest moments have alot to do with the projects I’ve been involved with, like being the face of Brand for Naked Summer swimwear, Content Modeling for well established Boutiques like Century Girl Vintage & David Lees where I often Model on live television in our local News Chanel for them, Commercial Modeling for Jrumz Ear Wear, and also getting featured in magazines like BLANC and Canvas Rebel, these are big honors and I take them as such. And as far as what set me apart, I believe my raw passion, good intentions and go-getter mindset plays a big part of it. Along with character traits that was build overtime with certain life experiences that I feel like set me up for this life if that makes sense.
What are your plans for the future?
Since we last talked there have been a few big changes, like signing with FT45 Modeling & Talent Agency, and also I got accepted into Fashion & Design School. I’m really looking forward to life after School and what that looks like. Getting to put everything I’ve learned into practice and getting better at my craft, and hopefully more school even. Im excited and also nervous to have my own designs out there to the public. All together I’m really looking forward toward furthering my Modeling & Designing career.
