Today we’d like to introduce you to Andre Walker
Hi Andre , it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I started listening to LoFI Beats in 2016 and fell so in love with the genre that I had to contribute to it in 2020 with my beats. When I first started I was so eager and excited to make music, but I didn’t know how to mix and master, so I paid another producer to mix and master my beats. At first, I was satisfied because I didn’t know what I wanted my sound to sound like, but as I developed more of my sound I learned that I would have to learn how to mix and master at some point. I picked up every book I could read and watched every YouTube video I could find on how to make, mix, and master music and now I’ve discovered more of my sound.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
After 4 years, I’m just now getting to a place where I like what I’m producing and releasing. The first 4 years were trial and error of figuring out what I wanted my beats to sound like. Now, I have a sound that I like producing and releasing. I came to a place in my journey where I was either going to learn how or never know how and I chose to learn how to better position myself to create what I want to create when I want to create it. This place that I came to forced me to commit to being a learner for life.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I make LoFi Hip-Hop beats under the name Hanover Park. I also ride a Yamaha XSR 900 and post content under the moniker @skywalkermoto on Instagram and may start a TikTok for it. I don’t ride my motorcycle as often as I’d want to, but when I do I have a good time. Other than that, I try to keep everything else about myself on the low until I find some people I’d like to be more of myself around.
How do you define success?
When God is glorified through what I produce and I have favor with God and man through what I produce then I’ll know I’m successful. How can I multiply the talents God gave me and serve others with them? When will I realize if I’m successful or not, maybe I’ll never know, but, I’ll always try.
