Today we’d like to introduce you to Adetokunbo Osinaike
Adetokunbo, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My journey has been one of transformation and self-discovery, rooted in a deep desire to live authentically and support others in doing the same.
I started my professional career in corporate America, working in engineering and engineering sales. For over a decade, I thrived in that space but also found myself sacrificing parts of who I really was to fit the image that was expected of me. The constant grind, the polished corporate persona, and the push for external success eventually led me to burnout and a realization that I wasn’t living in alignment with my true self.
It was during this time of questioning that I began to explore practices that would reconnect me to my deeper purpose—first through personal growth and emotional healing, and later through more immersive modalities like breathwork, plant medicine, and men’s work. Breathwork, in particular, became a powerful tool for me. It opened up a way to release stored emotions, reconnect with my body, and access a sense of peace and clarity I hadn’t felt in years. As I grew more into this practice, I realized that it wasn’t just healing for me—it was something I needed to share with others, especially men who often struggle in silence.
The transition from corporate life to becoming a coach, facilitator, and guide wasn’t easy. There were moments of doubt, imposter syndrome, and uncertainty, but I knew the work I was doing—both on myself and with others—was far more fulfilling than anything I’d done before.
Today, I work as a breathwork facilitator, men’s coach, and guide in transformative journeys, helping men reconnect with their authenticity, emotional intelligence, and deeper sense of purpose. Through somatic breathwork journeys, coaching programs like Training Grounds with Modern Renaissance Man, and private 1:1 coaching, I support men in breaking free from societal pressures and becoming more aligned with their true power.
I also collaborate with several wellness studios in Chicago, including Studio Yogi, Tranquil High Studio, and BAAM YOGA, where I lead regular breathwork sessions. Recently, I’ve also expanded into consulting, partnering with The 1937 Foundation to integrate wellness, breathwork, coaching, financial literacy and life skill practices into inner city BIPOC men programs here in Chicago.
What excites me the most about my work is the potential to create real change—in individuals, communities, and even the corporate spaces I once thrived in. It’s about showing people, especially men, that they can live with more intention, vulnerability, and freedom, while building stronger relationships and healthier, more balanced lives. I believe when men truly connect with themselves, they become unstoppable forces for good in their homes, communities, and the world.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The road to where I am today has been anything but smooth, and the challenges along the way have been integral to my growth, both personally and professionally. One of the biggest obstacles I faced was the internal struggle with identity and authenticity. Coming from a corporate background, I spent years fitting into a version of myself that didn’t fully align with who I truly was. I maintained a polished, clean-cut image because that’s what was expected. I kept my Afro cut short, adhered to corporate norms, and in many ways, suppressed the parts of me that I was hesitant to reveal. Letting go of that and embracing my true self wasn’t easy—it required peeling back layers of conditioning and stepping out of my comfort zone.
Another challenge was dealing with imposter syndrome, especially during the early stages of my transition from corporate life to becoming a coach and breathwork facilitator. I often questioned whether I was qualified or if my experiences were enough to guide others on their journeys. It took time, self-work, and embracing my own story to overcome this feeling. I had to recognize that the value I bring to my clients comes from my lived experience and the healing practices I’ve integrated into my own life.
There was also the challenge of stepping into a new path with uncertainty. Leaving a stable, well-paying corporate career for a journey filled with unknowns was daunting. Building a coaching practice and establishing myself in the wellness community took patience and persistence. The first few years were tough—figuring out how to balance my passion with making a living, trusting that the work would come, and dealing with moments of doubt.
In addition, navigating men’s work and vulnerability has its unique set of challenges. Many men are conditioned to avoid vulnerability, so creating spaces where they can feel safe to open up and confront emotions they’ve been taught to suppress requires constant effort. It’s been a challenge to break down those barriers, but it’s also been deeply rewarding to see the transformations that happen when men embrace this process.
Ultimately, these challenges have shaped me into the person I am today. The struggles have deepened my understanding of myself and the men I serve, allowing me to lead from a place of compassion, authenticity, and groundedness. It hasn’t been easy, but every obstacle has contributed to my growth and the work I now do to help others navigate their own paths.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I specialize in breathwork facilitation, coaching, and men’s work, focusing on helping men reclaim their authenticity, emotional intelligence, and deeper connection to themselves and their communities. My work integrates various modalities—breathwork, somatic practices, plant medicine, and emotional intelligence training—to create transformative experiences for those ready to make meaningful changes in their lives.
I’m known for my ability to create safe, welcoming spaces where men can explore their vulnerabilities and confront societal pressures that often hold them back. Through our signature program, Training Grounds with Modern Renaissance Man, I guide men on a journey of self-discovery, emotional resilience, and empowerment. My breathwork sessions, offered at various studios across the Chicagoland area, including Studio Yogi, Tranquil High Studio, and through a collaboration with BAAM YOGA, provide a unique blend of mindfulness, movement, and community connection that supports participants in releasing stress, accessing deeper emotional states, and fostering genuine connections with themselves and others.
What I’m most proud of is the impact I’ve been able to make in the lives of the men I work with. Witnessing their transformations—from struggling with self-doubt and emotional disconnection to embracing their authenticity and stepping into their power—is incredibly fulfilling. It’s a privilege to guide men in breaking free from societal expectations and rediscovering their true selves, ultimately leading to stronger relationships and more meaningful lives.
What sets me apart from others is my multifaceted approach, combining modern psychology with ancient wisdom and practical tools for self-mastery. I integrate my personal journey of overcoming obstacles like imposter syndrome and corporate conditioning into my work, which allows me to resonate deeply with my clients. I believe in the power of community and connection, and I strive to create environments where men feel seen, heard, and supported in their growth.
Additionally, my commitment to financial literacy and empowerment adds another layer to my coaching practice. I understand that true success is not just about emotional freedom, but also about building sustainable futures. This holistic approach to coaching and my dedication to fostering genuine connection and transformation set my work apart in the wellness community.
