In our experience, talking about legacy is often subtly discouraged by society and we find this to be deeply unfortunate. Thinking about the legacy you would like to build can help you better align your work, life, time – your sweat and tears – with your values. Below, we’ve tried to create a space for folks to start conversations about they legacies they are hoping to build.

I have lived my life in service of the world around me. I have found the greatest joy in meeting needs that others shy away from. My motivation has been to see those I could help grow and become the people they are able to become. Read more>>

When I think of the word legacy I think of its true meaning and that is the long lasting impact of a particular event, action that took place in the last or of a person’s life. I would hope that my legacy would be one of generational health, wealth, emotional and mental maturity, and one that led people to truly follow Christ. I think essentially for me as I grow older the values of life has tremendously shifted. I think of those who have left a forever impression on my heart through their legacy and impact. I hope to one day be one that people can say truly exemplified a life of Jesus Christ, impact in my family, workplace, ministry, and by everyday contact with people from all sorts of walks through life. I didn’t know that or even think I would potentially leave a legacy but becoming who I’ve become by Gods grace has tremendously shifted my perspective. Read more>>

The legacy I aspire to build is one of empowerment, inclusivity, and transformation. Through my journey, I aim to amplify underrepresented voices in the fashion industry, inspire future generations, and redefine success by embracing diversity, fostering community, and celebrating individuality. I hope to be remembered as a visionary who transformed pain into purpose, using creativity to uplift and empower others. My goal is to leave an indelible mark on people’s lives—not just through fashion but through a relentless commitment to equity, love, and resilience. Read more>>

What I would like to continue far after I am gone is a world filled with more kindness so that every shining star out there can truly shine. There is no way for me to know what people will say about me after I am gone, but I hope to be remembered as a great mom, daughter and friend; someone who always did what is right, not what is easy; a quirky creative who was always a step ahead of most people, and most of all someone who was kind, generous, loving, and courageous. I also want people to remember how much I believed that you can shine without needing to be seen. The stars never stop shining, and they don’t care who’s looking up! Read more>>

I really hope that my story inspires more little girls from the Caribbean to dream BIG! I think back to my childhood days – the little girl from Trinidad & Tobago who was so unsure about how her life would pan out and I still have days when I am unsure now, but I can look back and see where my journey through the modelling industry has been a blessing. I still have a long way to go and a lot more work to do but being signed Ikon Management, the best Mother Agency in the USA and having the blessing of being represented by Wilhelmina Miami is testament to hope. Statistically, the likelihood that a dream of that magnitude would actualise for a girl who is from where I am from, was small but it happened. Read more>>

As a wedding photographer, my biggest hope is that the photographs I take become treasured keepsakes for generations to come. I want to create images that make people pause and relive the laughter, tears, and love they felt on one of the most special days of their lives. My dream is that couples will look at these photographs decades from now, sharing them with their children and grandchildren, and feel the same joy they did on their wedding day. That’s the legacy I want to leave—a collection of timeless memories that never fade. Read more>>

I want to be remembered as someone who made people smile, laugh, and feel a little more wonder in their lives. I hope people will look back and say, “He brought so much joy and magic into the world and wasn’t afraid to chase his dreams, no matter how many times he had to start over.” Moving from Miami to Orlando, then to Denver, wasn’t always easy, but it taught me to keep pushing forward and to stay true to what I love. I hope that inspires others to go after what lights them up, even when the path isn’t clear. Read more>>

The legacy I’m building and hope to leave is one where people experience empowerment, courage, and freedom—freedom to be, live, act, build, create, and express without guilt, shame, or doubt. The world is too full of people eager to sit on the sidelines and point and laugh and criticize without ever taking a risk of their own. So while I hope to leave a lasting legacy, I’m more interested in being an example for those who desire to create their own lane and really go after creating the life they’re capable of. Read more>>

First, I have to acknowledge that I am a legacy — the culmination of many ancestors’ wildest hopes and dreams. So, any mark that I’m able to make is largely due to the gifts and values I’ve inherited from them, while leaning into the traits that feel the most “me”. Personally, it feels premature to think about my own legacy right now because in many ways I feel like I’m just beginning to fully show up in my work after years of baking, returning to Earth stewardship and spiritual herbalism, and nearly a decade in marketing. I feel immensely proud to continue a legacy of Earth reverence and stewardship from my grandfathers, and to embody the love, care and resilience of my grandmothers. I’d love to be known for my sense of whimsy and wonder, dependability, creativity, kindness and grit. Read more>>

Legacy. Such a profound word and what is means to me in this season of my life. Before this recent Christmas break, I randomly bought letter beads and made a bracelet that I have worn every day since. It reads, L.E.G.A.C.Y. For me, this word, the meaning, the intentionality behind it continues to evolve and be redefined what legacy I leave behind means to me and what impact my life’s purpose has been. I will break it down into these three (3) areas: Family, Career, Personal. Read more>>
