In our experience, talking about legacy is often subtly discouraged by society and we find this to be deeply unfortunate. Thinking about the legacy you would like to build can help you better align your work, life, time – your sweat and tears – with your values. Below, we’ve tried to create a space for folks to start conversations about they legacies they are hoping to build.

I would hope my legacy would be that we created a lovely shop where our customers could come in and shop, be greeted like a friend, have a laugh, find something perfect for just about anybody on your list, have your items wrapped beautifully so you were able to simply hand it over to your loved one. My goal is for my customer to have fun while they are under our roof. I hate to see people stressed over gift giving. It should be fun and something we get to do, not something we have to do. I hope, when the day comes that I retire from photography, that my clients and their families will be able to look back at the images I have captured for them over the years and remember not only the moments, but also the way I made them feel. I hope my seniors remember the feeling of having the world at their feet, the future laid out before them. Read more>>

At a very young age, I learned that life was a series of events happening in time. In some cases, time passed quickly, in others, it seemed to be excruciatingly slow. Regardless of the mode, time gave no notice to the beginning or end of an experience, it just passed. Read more>>

I think most people would read that question when posed to a flower farmer and assume that my answer would be about flowers, farming, or even making beautiful physical spaces. Sure, those things are obviously important to me but those are not the things I want most associated with me and my legacy. Read more>>

I hope once I transition from this dimension, I leave a mark of making the impossible, possible & being a example for someone with the idea that it can be real with faith & work together. It’s bigger than just business and making money. We gotta go deeper than just surface level. I want my successors to see a snapshot of the bigger picture through me. Read more>>

I hope my legacy is one of strength and courage. I began asking myself this question back in 2019. We, as young people, don’t always think about it. We are never too young to begin building our remembrance. When celebrities or public figures pass away, they usually leave a legacy from having created an art form like music, movies, poetry, photos and paintings to study for a lifetime. Poetry is my love and is a part of my legacy. Telling my story in a raw and honest fashion, is what my legacy consists of. I am disabled, I am strong, I am determined to leave a mark in the world and no one can stop me. Read more>>

While I am called to do many things, I am certain that one of those things is to create a safe space for people to become even better versions of themselves. In my own small way, I am called to serve as a catalyst to individuals recognizing their unique greatness, finding their voice and harnessing it to live out purpose and leave their mark on the world. With this being said, I am a true advocate at heart and this can be consistently seen and felt in how I do all of the work that I do. Read more>>

I hope my legacy I leave behind is LOVE everything I do I approach it from a loving space because if that isn’t the basis for your intentions things might fall through the cracks . No matter how dark the times may get reminding myself that I love what I do and the people I do it with is so special and brings the light right back in ! Leading with love is the only way in a superficial world where so many people have dark underlying motives for personal gain ! We’re all just trying to have quality of life and enjoy it so why be nasty ? Makes no sense ! LOVE FIRST Read more>>

There are two different legacy perspectives Angeline Studios hopes to accomplish. The first perspective is that through travel photography, audiences are able to see sites that they may never be exposed to in real life. Life can make it seemingly impossible to see worldwide beauty and Angeline Studios provides a glimpse of that behind the lens. Read more>>

In addition to my two daughters, I hope my food pun business will be my legacy. My food puns are meant to start a conversation about food and poke fun at diet culture. When celery juice was popular, I made a design with a huge bunch of celery that simply says, “Stalker”. If you have to plug your nose to eat or drink something, it’s probably time to find something else to consume. My motto is “food is for eating”. It should be pleasurable and never punitive. I hope that my legacy will be one of inspiration. I hope I inspire people to chase after their dreams. Not matter how big or small. I have had every range of emotion starting my photography business and now opening a studio. I’ve cried, I’’ve doubted myself. Read more>>

My friend and business partner, Holly and I, have worked extremely hard to create a scholarship organization that we are both proud of. We watch young girls and women transform into the most confident and accomplished versions of themselves. I know our program promotes all the best of the pageant industry. Our focus is not on outer beauty or visual appeal. We focus our scoring on Interview, public speaking and community involvement. Read more>>

I have a deep yearning and appreciation for the practice of documentation. My work is submerged in the act of preservation of nightlife, hills and valleys of personal growth, queer life, family and the communities I am physically a part of. I only pray my essence, what I do, how I lived will, my work, will help string the lines of legacy lost through poverty, queerphobia and racism to the future. So much is lost and will never be recovered again. Perhaps, just maybe, I can either move culture forward and be apart of new lineages. Read more>>

As a business owner, I hope that my legacy is that I helped make a difference in the survival of film photography. I strive to be a resource for high quality processing, scanning, darkroom printing, as well as education. I want to be remembered as the lab photographers could lean on, learn from, and grow with. Read more>>

As humans, we are constantly consuming stuff. In our fast paced lives, we often don’t take the time to consider where this “stuff” comes from – what its journey was before it ended up in our possession. While being able to consider this will take a conscious effort on the consumer’s part, I have done the research. My Lovely Muse has grown as a business to focus on just that – providing products whose stories have been considered, where sustainability and ethical manufacturing is priority. Read more>>

Legacy is more about what you contributed to the lives of others while living and less about the platforms you held. I’d like my legacy to be remembered and honored as one of service, community and giving back. Many times we think of financial means when we say giving back but I am refereeing to giving service, time, support and aid to those that need it the most. See when you live a selfless life your legacy will speak for itself. Read more>>

Legacy is such a loaded word/idea. After I am gone, what do I want to leave behind and how do I want people to remember me? I would like to think that my success will leave others in a position to succeed, but with that I also need to define what I believe success to be. For the longest time, I was focused on money. Not a specific dollar amount, but simply more. More money equals more success. After a lot of self help and exploration my ideas on success started to shift from money to happiness. Read more>>

A legacy is an interesting concept, because we might work our entire lives trying to make an imprint on this world, yet others might remember us for something totally separate from our life’s work. Since I was little, I carried with me a fear of death. I know this is a common fear, but the origin that drove me to feel this way was the notion that I would one day cease to exist– physically and in the hearts and minds of others who still remain. I want my legacy to speak volumes for the person I am. My legacy will be able to influence others to make positive changes within so that he/she can be their best authentic self. Being able to dress the part or particular standard is not always the norm and i wan people to know that is perfectly acceptable for being you, and to have fun with clothing. My legacy will prove to everyone that fashion for men is just as important as it is for women, and that men also enjoy looking our best selves. Read more>>
