Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Bob Packert. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Bob, thanks for joining us today. We’d love to hear about when you first realized that you wanted to pursue a creative path professionally.
I first knew that I wanted to pursue a creative/artistic path when I was in high school. I would always look forward to art class, throughout the week. From there it was a matter of figuring out both my strengths and my weaknesses within my art projects.
Bob, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I started out my career being a fashion photographer. I have always had a love and appreciation for fashion. Everything from the wardrobe, the models the textures, I couldn’t get enough!
Just in the past few years I have incorporated those skills into the art world.
My main focus is creating analog fashion related collage art. I create both wall art, as well as “wearable art”, clothing and wardrobe using my designs.
We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
I consider myself a “planner”. Going into a project I like to start with some semblance of a plan or structure. This helps me to stay focused. That being said, I allow myself to be open to exploring different ideas when creating a new piece!
What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
I feel that the most rewarding aspect of being an artist is making someone feel something when they see my work!
