We were lucky to catch up with Jennifer Chambard recently and have shared our conversation below.

Jennifer, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. What was the most important lesson/experience you had in a job that has helped you in your professional career?

I’ve always had a passion for helping women, especially with confidence. Years ago I worked with Victoria’s Secret and women empowerment was taught to us daily. Why women are special, why our bodies are so unique and beautiful. This gave me a strong foundation for wanting to help women, and as I opened my MedSpa, there were lessons I brought with me. Every woman deserves to feel sexy and enchanting and we should feel powerful in our journey. Something that was once said at a morning meeting all those years ago that always stuck with me, was, “If you aren’t helping the brand, you’re hurting the brand.” I couldn’t tell you one other word that was said after that because those words shot through my soul and made a profound impact on me, and the rest of my life. My head dropped “the brand” and I couldn’t stop thinking about it. If you’re not helping grow your business, you’re hurting it. If someone needs help, and you aren’t part of the solution, then you’re part of the problem. <i> if I am not part of the solution, if I’m not providing a solution, I’m no better than the problem <i> I want to be a solution. I want to be the one people turn to for answers, help, and understanding. Because I never want to be “part of the problem”.

I have been practicing body contouring for 4 years but decided to go full-time in 2022. Helping women feel more confident has been a lifelong passion. When I found a way to turn my passion into a business, I hit the ground running and never looked back.
Outside of work, I teach on a very part-time basis, I write (you can find my work on Amazon), and I’m a crafter, a dreamer, and a goal-getter. I’m a Mother, a godmother, a daughter, a sister, a cousin… and I have the most amazing dog.

Do you think you’d choose a different profession or specialty if you were starting now?

I saw a post on Facebook the other day that said “If you could live anywhere in the US, where would you choose and why?” It made me smile. Born and raised in the Seattle area, I never quite felt like thats where I was supposed to be. I would go on vacations to escape the rain, and the overcast, but I didn’t know any different. I went on a vacation to Georgia and fell in love. The sun, the south, the hospitality, the food, the sounds. It was magical, and I spent the rest of my vacation dreaming about what it would be like to live somewhere else. Somewhere I didn’t need a vacation from. I’ve been all over the US and even parts of Mexico, but there is nowhere in the world that made me feel as amazing as Arizona. So I made a choice. Life is too short to live somewhere you’re unhappy. To spend countless hours at a job you hate, To sleep in a bed that is anything but perfect. I wouldn’t change my career path for the world, my only regret is that I didn’t do this sooner. Live your life by design, you are capable of amazing things when you decide what you want for yourself. Let nothing is going to stand in your way.

Training and knowledge matter of course, but beyond that what do you think matters most in terms of succeeding in your field?

Success in my field isn’t much different than any other small business. Determination. When I told people I was starting this, I kept hearing “But what happens if you fail?” I remember looking at each person that said that to me, perplexed. “I won’t. This is what I want and I’m going to do it.” So many people tried to talk me out of it, and funny enough, now that I’m becoming successful, most of them don’t talk to me anymore. My Dad once told me there’s nothing more powerful than determination and I have built my world around that principle. Getting laser-focused on what you want and creating an action plan to commit to your goals, takes determination. Setting aside relationships, parties, and the “come out with us, it’s Friday!” Not only takes determination but commitment. You may have to change some truths in your life. You might have to stay up late, after your family and friends are fast asleep, working on your business and your personal growth. But if you’re determined, the only thing that can stop you, is YOU.
