We recently connected with Brook Choulet and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Brook thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. We’d love to hear about how you went about setting up your own practice and if you have any advice for professionals who might be considering starting their own?
The Performance Psychiatrist stems from my focused work with high-achievers, professionals, and elite athletes. In my years of operating in private practice, I’ve recognized my effectiveness and unwavering passion for empowering accomplished individuals to unlock their fullest potential. My extensive network of connections with other healthcare providers and professionals has enabled me to reach a substantial segment of our community, delivering essential mental health care services.
Witnessing the remarkable growth and evolution of our practice has been nothing short of incredible. Over my tenure in private practice, I’ve had the privilege of assisting highly accomplished individuals in refining and enhancing their communication and overall effectiveness, ultimately propelling them to new heights of success.
My practice extends across various age groups, encompassing children, adolescents, and adults, offering a holistic approach combining medication management and therapy to ensure comprehensive and tailored care for every individual I work with.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I am a concierge child, adolescent, and adult psychiatrist, specializing in high-performance and sports psychiatry. I completed an adult psychiatry residency program and then subspecialized in child & adolescent psychiatry, completing a 2 year fellowship. After starting my work in private practice, I fell in love with working with high-achieving kids and adults who were facing barriers, restricting them from achieving at their full potential. I am thrilled with the fact that I’m able to provide concierge level care with a non-retainer and non-membership structure. It allows me to extend my reach in the community and help more people. What makes me most proud, is the extended appointment times and between-appointment communication that I provide to all of my patients. I truly feel that it makes a significant and positive impact on their lives to trust and know that I will be there for them when needed.
If you could go back in time, do you think you would have chosen a different profession or specialty?
I would absolutely go back and choose the same profession! I love what I do, which makes it so easy to go to work everyday.
What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
Trust, knowledge, and effective communication ultimately set me apart from other private practice psychiatrists in the area. My reputation was built in the community by other physicians and my own patients seeing the level of attention that I provide each patient. I treat every person as if they were my own family member.
