We recently connected with Yianni Tsatas and have shared our conversation below.
Yianni , thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. We’d love to hear about how you went about setting up your own practice and if you have any advice for professionals who might be considering starting their own?
It’s funny coming out of treatment for substance abuse, I went back to work in the restaurant industry.. Through volunteer work I found my way back into University taking courses in Addiction.. From there I completed a degree in Addiction Counselling and started working in a Treatment facility to gain experience in my field. From there I took the leap of faith and started my business. Jumped right in. I would not have done anything differently because I believe in hard work, mistakes that are learning experiences, and being vulnerable and real.
Any advice I can give on my end is to be yourself, be you and not try to be like other people what is meant for you is going to find you as long as you are willing to put in the work.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I got into this industry because I saw the lack of it due to my experience overcoming addiction..
I provide honesty and the truth to all my clients and their family.
One of the services I provide is a recovery coaching program I have built that can help people overcome addiction if followed through.
I also provide Interventions to help families get their loved ones who suffer from substance abuse into treatment facilities.
And I also provide sober companion services. Meaning I live with the client 24 hours a day to help him structure his life to overcome addiction.
I also do sober transports, meaning I transport people to treatment facilities because in these difficult times in their lives they are living with a lot of stress and anxiety.. Hiring a sober transport gives the person a sense of comfort and security and has someone there they can depend on, while headed to a treatment facility.
I am a straight shooter. My Ethics are very strong and I work with integrity.
How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
What helped me build my reputation is my character. I am open honest and vulnerable.
I am myself.
I have and work with a lot of integrity.
I am willing to do whatever it takes to get the job done, meaning I am willing to go to any length to help someone in need.
I am genuine and I speak the truth.
Training and knowledge matter of course, but beyond that what do you think matters most in terms of succeeding in your field?
Understand where the person I am working with is coming from., I approach every situation with love and concern. I put Myself in their shoes and I meet the client where he is.
