We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Torie Tyson a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Torie, thanks for joining us today. What’s been the most meaningful project you’ve worked on?
I have so many projects I’ve done that have been very meaningful. My latest one Altered Perceptions was really exciting. I got to work with the legendary Eric Roberts!! A short film I did played at Cannes and BFI in London. I got to go that was exciting. I was in the fringe fest in a musical.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I’ve been acting and singing since I was a kid. I’ve always loved performing. I studied acting and started singing at talent nights and formed my own band. I played a lot of the clubs in Los Angeles. I’ve done stage acting shorts and features as an actress.I want to continue to keep working as much as I can.
Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
Just keep going and never give up. You never know what can happen in this business. Sometimes you do get discouraged but you have to keep thriving.one thing can lead to another. One job can lead to something else. The best thing is to keep doing as much as you can do in your field. You have to pick your self up even when things get hard.
What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
I wish I knew earlier that it’s who you know and contacts you make that can help you in the long run. Talent is important of course but luck and timing and the right place at the right time helps.
