We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Anna Maliszewska a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Alright, Anna thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. We’d love to have you retell us the story behind how you came up with the idea for your business, I think our audience would really enjoy hearing the backstory.

The idea of opening the soccer academy came when we both with my husband realized that there is so much potential for under privilage kids in our community. There were not many academies that would offer great soccer service for low or middle class kids. They were all very expensive and most of kids we knew could not afford it.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.

I’m Polish, certified US Soccer “B” license coach, former WPSL soccer player, who is appacionate about soccer. Current Athletic Director at Dade CHRISTIAN School and Academy owner – Miami United Stars   Let me take this opportunity to introduce you to the Miami United Stars Soccer Academy. We have been established for 10 years now. Strongly in support of the development of boys’ and girls’ soccer skills, as well as encouraging positive involvement in society. Our goal is to provide an instructive environment for kids, while also providing them with plenty of field time to
and local and regional tournaments.
We want to give them a chance to play this beautiful sport even if our kids are not so affortunate and do not have so much support from their parents because of different family reasons.
Our pride and glory is one of our players that have just signed professional contract with Inter Miami and plays alongside with Lionel Messi and others #41 David Ruiz. He was raised by our academy since he was 10 years old. Later on we presented him to Inter Miami where he passed try outs and joined 2nd team. Now he is starter in 1st team and was recently called up for National Honduras Team.
Many of our players are at the different Universities with scholarships. It is great achievement as well.
We are here to help all, especially the once most needed that recently came to the country and are struggling day to day.

How do you keep your team’s morale high?

As long as you do your job with your heart and do not look for getting profit, only for help, you can sleep well and be happy cause you are able to help those in need. Always positive energy.

We’d love to hear about how you met your business partner.

My husband and I met in Italy. From two different part of the world POLAND – myself and Honduras (him). We noticed quickly we share same passion, which is soccer and high desire to help others.
That is how our project started growing. In business 10 years now and still running;) Thank GOD and people that put trust in us.
