We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Sonam Chouksey. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Sonam below.
Sonam, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today What did your parents do right and how has that impacted you in your life and career?
My parents are my first mentors. .They personally lead a tough life but somehow knew how to learn from the situations and make it right for me and my brother. They never imposed their beliefs or wishes upon us. They always asked us first what we want from life be it deciding a career or experimenting with options we had ahead of us. They envisioned us to make informed decisions.
They trusted us and that ultimately gave us the confidence to achieve our goals in life.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I am a physician and medical director who has seen the gaps in healthcare for new moms from the both sides. I founded PrevLyfe health with the vision to provide holistic support to new moms and new families. PrevLyfe Health strives to help New Moms in a holistic way so they do not have to compromise on their passion, career or health. We do this by equipping new moms on three fronts- Social support, professional leverage and healthy days.
PrevLyfe builds a personalized journey around new families supporting their needs.

Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
I had initially started PrevLyfe with the focus on preventive healthcare in general. When I became a first time mom during COVID times, I realized first hand how new moms have little resources and have to navigate this marathon by themselves. There is little to no preparation for what this journey might entail.
That’s when I decided to work on Prevlyfe with the focus on helping new moms and families, help them bounce back to their normal self without losing their individuality.

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
I think each person who have left their home country and settled in a different one have infinite resilience. When we leave our home country and home exploring new life, unfolding new chapters of life, each day brings a new learning experience. One has to adapt to the change and keep learning new things.
It feels like unlearning and learning new things is an ongoing process. Resilience is the key to succeed and make the best of what life has to offer.
My journey from a medical student to a doctor to a medical director and a founder in a short period of time was a fun roller coaster ride and resilience was my strength.
