Lux, appreciate you joining us today. When did you first know you wanted to pursue a creative/artistic path professionally?

I have known I wanted to work in a creative/artistic field for as long as I can remember. The passion for self-expression and the joy of creating something unique have always driven me towards this path.

As a drag queen, I transform myself into a dazzling and exaggerated portrayal of femininity, using extravagant makeup, clothing, and accessories. My performances take place in various settings like clubs and theaters, where I lip-sync to music, engage with the audience, and showcase my creative expression. Being a drag queen is a multi-faceted experience for me. It involves honing my makeup and styling skills, developing a unique stage persona, and creating visually stunning looks. It’s a profound form of artistic expression, empowering me to challenge traditional gender norms and embrace my creativity fully. Additionally, drag queens play a vital role in the LGBTQ+ communities, fostering acceptance and providing a safe space for self-expression. However, it’s important to note that the experience of being a drag queen can vary widely, as each performer brings their own style, identity, and perspective to this vibrant art form.

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?

The joy of bringing smiles to people’s faces, creating memorable experiences, and providing a safe and accepting space for others within the LGBTQ+ community and beyond is fulfilling beyond words. It’s a powerful combination of self-expression, artistry, and making a positive impact on people’s lives, making it a truly rewarding experience.

Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?

My goal as a drag queen is to bring a light into the world by entertaining people and spreading love. Through my performances, I aim to uplift spirits, create moments of joy, and promote acceptance and love for all. It’s about using my artistry to make the world a brighter, more inclusive place.
