We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Jasmine Wilson a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Jasmine , thanks for joining us today. Let’s kick things off with your mission – what is it and what’s the story behind why it’s your mission?
The Story behind my mission is ME! My Name is Jasmine and I like to call myself a walking billboard for body positivity, inclusion, love, finance, food and all around loving yourself. I was diagnosed with juvenile diabetes at the tender age of 13 years old. This time in my life was very challenging for me mentally, and of course with my health. As a young Adolescents. I struggled with confidence, and also my weight along with my illness. As a young lady, I always thought to myself its just ME struggling with these things. I would always say ” I am too young” I’m just a kid”. Fast forward to my Adult hood i experienced many trials and tribulations related to just leading an unhealthy lifestyle. Moving forward to year 2018. I had had enough and I really wanted to do something to get me and my life in order so I , challenged myself to make one small change within my life each day. I started journaling my food, what i wanted out of my new life how I wanted to be better. I then started sharing my inspiring journey on social media. I created a page and I went for it. I started to do so much research on how to read food labels and how to use alternatives with foods to save on calories and carb content. I did all of this while learning and manifesting the life i wanted. I started going to the gym which boosted my confidence. I was able to loose 80-100lbs and I’ve been able to keep my weight and health in check for the last 4 years. I became an overnight celebrity with my Meal Prep services. I showed the world how i was able to take something we do everyday ” COOK” and turn it into a growing business. I posted my meals each day. I would show a THIS VS. THAT option for my followers, I got creative, I inspired so many young ladies and men to not just practice good physical health but also the health of their mental. I would not consider myself a success story because I’ve been able to acquire things. I am a success story because I’ve been able to help people! I love sharing my struggles and my triumphs with others because when I was younger and needed that i never had it. Its imperative for me to show up each day just the way I am a ” Striving Leader, A hungry Creative and a Woman of Color”.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.

How you can find out more about me and my brand is by visiting my website. WWW. Lifestylesessions.com or by following my growth journey on social media. I love to educate my people on everything lifestyle. Food, Fashion and Finances are my main things that I talk about on my socials. I show clients and potential investors how all these things tie into culture as well as within each other. Being a Brand Ambassador I am constantly reminded that I am an example to young people as well as an educator. I have had the privileges’ to work with many of my current cities community agencies offering cooking classes, summer jobs to the youth and free services. I.e. Free Meals. Our program is designed to make life a bit simpler, cost effective and timely.
What sets my business apart from others is that We don’t put ourselves in a BOX. We are all about having a real lifestyle brand and educating people on all phases and parts of life ( from our own) personal experiences.
What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
Lessons I had to un learn was NOT TRUSTING people. We are taught from a very early age that you cant trust anyone. There aren’t to many good people in this world. That’s a lesson I had to unlearn to run a business. Business is all about being smart and making sound decisions in regards to trusting the process.
Can you open up about how you funded your business?
How I put together the initial capital for my Business was SAVINGS! i am a financial manager by trade so I have always been very well put together in regards to my finances. I lived below my means and i saved monies from working over the years and took a chance on myself by investing my funds and started my business. Although, this is a very risky move so is NOT doing anything and hoping something will happen for you rather than making something happen for yourself.
