Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Jessica Godinez. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Jessica, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. What was it like going from idea to execution? Can you share some of the backstory and some of the major steps or milestones?

I had the idea to start the churro catering a few years before I actually took action. I decided it was time when I became pregnant with my second child and had to find a way to make money while being in a high risk pregnancy. I did some research to make sure there was no one in my area offering what I had in mind, I purchased the equipment I needed to get me started, I drew out what I wanted my cart to look like and with the help of my husband and dad, we built my first cart.

Jessica, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?

I myself am a big foodie and love desserts so naturally starting a business where we cater different desserts just made sense to me. We offer over 10 different services with our most popular ones being Churro Sundaes, Churros, Esquite (corn in a cup) and our Munchies Bar. We offer a delicious One Of A Kind onsite catering experience for all events. We take pride in delivering a service that leave guest wowed and wanting more. Our business has grown a lot by word of mouth and that to us means the world because it shows that our clients love us so much that they refer us to their friends and family.

We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?

I love to take pictures and videos so creating reels and posting pictures on my instagram was fun. To anyone just starting off, my advice it to take pictures and video of everything. People love to see what the product looks like finished and what our different set ups look like. I always try to make content from every event we cater.

Can you talk to us about how your side-hustle turned into something more.

Churro Amor Catering LLC started off as a way for me to make some extra money while being in a high risk pregnancy. In the 1 year that we have been open, we have grown so much and continue to grow. We have had some of the most amazing clients and have worked with brands I never thought would be possible so soon. This is only our fist year and we have so much more coming.
